True to its name, Philosophy is all about a particular mood and under the direction of Natalie Ratabesi that means an unfussy cool that never seems put on. The quiet yet refined collection Ratabesi showed for spring focused on gossamer light fabrics and a restrained color palette of white and grey punctuated by hints of pastel. Transparent detailing on gauzy blouses studded with crystals and floor length gowns fit for casual evenings provided a visual treat as did a series of ruffled numbers with just the right amount of girlishness. All in all, Ratabesi’s designs were a refreshing addition to the season’s meditations on effortlessness.
