Having freed a myriad of women from the runaway spirits possessing their hearts, the "God of Conquest" Keima Katsuragi is confronted with a new task: find the Jupiter Sisters, the goddesses that sealed Old Hell in the past. Diana, the goddess that resides inside his childhood friend Tenri Ayukawa, explains that they have taken shelter in the hearts of the girls he had assisted previously. Moreover, once Diana and her sisters are reunited, their power can seal the runaway spirits away for good and relieve Keima of his exorcising duties. Though he is initially reluctant to get involved in yet another chore, everything changes when tragedy befalls one of the hosts.
Discovering that the goddesses are being targeted by a mysterious organization known as Vintage, Keima is caught in a race against time to reunite the sisters and rescue the girl who has already fallen prey. With deeper resolve than ever before, Keima works together with demons Elsie and Haqua to recapture the hearts of the girls he had charmed in the past. However, the road ahead is a difficult one, as he is soon met with the consequences of his previous conquests.

Having not read the manga, this season throws you into a whiplash with multiple new characters you don't know, and the story takes a sudden shift from being a cheesy gimmick to being some super serious world-ending stuff that I have a feeling was NOT in the author's head at all when he conceived this series.
This would normally be a problem, but this season is actually the best of them all, even on its own. This is because the story finds an excuse to banish Elsie's useless ass away, and she gets like 10 minutes of screen time the whole season. Haqua gets to
...
act in her place, and Haqua is the best character in this series. In fact, this entire series would have been better if they just banished Elsie to off-screen land every season and made Haqua the main demon. But it's okay.

As usual I am at odds with the majority opinion on this site.
I did enjoy the first two seasons of Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai, which were mostly comedy and satire.
I haven't read the manga, so this is purely from the observations of someone who watched the anime:
Season 3 begins by introducing a bunch of characters who were conquered off screen by Keima Katsuragi. They all apparently have their own stories in the manga, but we get them as flashbacks in the anime. And it basically continues like that through the season. References to things that never happened in the previous shows, but
...
only have backstories in the manga. Even at the very end, a completely new character pops up that Keima Katsuragi knows by name, but who no one who never read the manga will know who is. Elsie - who is a major character in the other shows, hardly even makes an appearance. However, since she's pretty annoying, I'm ok with that. It is, though, a super inconsistent way to conclude a story.
Add to all this one of the single most unsatisfying and frustrating endings I have ever seen in any anime ever, I have to give Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai: Megami-hen a measly 4 stars. And that's primarily for the art.
The story is a complete mess and there's no conclusions to any of the characters, least of all the protagonist himself who just returns to the darkness of his room.
What a total letdown. What a disappointment. What a waste of time.

Look how they butchered my boy..... That is what i felt halfway through this third season. Of course, even the opening scene gave the feeling of a bad omen... Skipping over actually intresting conquests, after they showed some really bad heroines in the second.... The ovas only shed light on Tenri. Everybody else is manga only by the way.
Honestly, this season feels like an abomination . Outside of the characters and some of the setting, this feels like an entirely new anime . A terrible one at that. I haven't seen a drop like this EVER in my life. The plot fell, the MC became
...
an NPC version of himself...... The animation stayed about the same, no worries in that departament. And outside of the MC the other characters didn't really change.Shiori is still at the top of the waifu food chain. But since all the other characters hit off the MC, and he became a charicature of himself... Yeah, you know the rest. Not to mention the previous premise of conquest was ... abandoned? Not really, but no new heroines are introduced outside of the ones already conquered. Some of them get only screen time and one line or not at all.
And the reason i liked the MC is also gone. He wasn't really robotic previously. He also clearly had an ammount of care for the girls he conquered and they left with a net positive even without their memories. Now? He acts like he lost half his brain, and only the part about the conquest remained. Now he does it without a care about the other party. Robotic. Careless. Not to mention so much drama happens, and so many random stuff..... They also forced a harem sorta route. Usually i don't mind a harem AT ALL. But the way they shoved it in ... Yeah no thanks.
And now ... Chihiro. I clearly stated my distaste for this NPC girl in the previous season. But after i was shown more of her and the way she is as a person... I changed my mind. I like her now. But after that rooftop event.... Going into comedy again... Like what ? Brother you cannot,i repeat CANNOT be serious about that . Not to mention it only gets somewhat .... acknowledged..? by the MC in that awful lackluster ending(that rooftop event). After that, i couldn't get laughs outta myself anymore. I just couldn't.
And then that ending came along.... Forget about it being dissapointing for a second, because the concert scene... Jesus Christ.... The author for whatever reason despises Chihiro i thought at that point. And then they show her face and .... I god damn teared up a little. I felt bad for characters before, but it was so bad this time around that i PHYSICALLY felt an emptiness in my stomach at that moment. I didn't even feel that bad for Sakura(Fate series) for gods sake(probably cuz she at least had good boy Shirou,Chihiro has god damn nobody).
This was supposed to be a lighthearted romantic comedy kinda show, with some supernatural spice. After the Chihiro arc ending they actually try to go back to that atmosphere.. But they just lost the plot for good after that.... I was supposed to leave with a smile on my face man, that's how it went for both the other seasons..... Instead i left MISERABLE.Just MISERABLE man.....
They RUINED in half a season what they built in the last 2. Unless we get an arc where Chihiro gets to have a real not fake/forced smile on her face i geniunely don't want another season EVER . That's how bad they got me to feel for her. If that would've been the author's goal from the start, then i would've given this a hard 10 and one of my kidneys at how succesful it was. But that was not the goal now was it. If you enjoyed the last two seasons, skip this one . Or watch to feel what i felt. At your own peril.
