On the brink of extinction, humans prayed to their gods, calling out for someone to save them. Emerging from these desperate pleas for salvation, battle deities known as the "Idaten" were born. Possessing unnatural strength and endurance, the Idaten managed to defeat the demons and an era of unprecedented peace was finally ushered in.
Having never encountered demons before, the present generation of Idaten knows nothing of the demon's brutality, but they have instead only lived a peaceful existence. Training under Rin, the only remaining Idaten from 800 years ago, the new Idaten find ways to survive in a time where they have seemingly outlived their usefulness. However, when the tyrannical Zoble Empire resurrects a demon, the misfit crop of gods are called to the battlefield against their natural enemy once more.

An extremely unique anime that sets itself apart and holds a broad appeal inspite of uniqueness.
Silly characters, hilarious dialogue, intense action and fighting, interesting animation and artwork style, intriguing story, conflicting narrative elements(which I actually find awesomely executed), great intro and music, deep philosophical narratives even though a light hearted execution.
It's truly difficult to find diamonds in the rough in anime. So many tropes have been so thoroughly played out that even shows that hit all the right elements within the given narrative and thematic structure often don't reach the status of peak anime.

is judged by is different. With this in mind, this shows is not a serious anime. Because of this, it makes it serious themes, adult content, and brutal nature all the more endearing and watchable! It eloquently pits together opposing aspects that make it difficult to put your finger on what makes it attracting without giving it thought. But it's also enjoyable whether you think deeply or not! It has an extremely broad appeal, and that is difficult to do well and please so many niches within anime culture and fanship.
This is a must-watch, but it seems like the type that someone may need to be in the mood for given its light hearted and comical nature.

When you read Synopsis you might think this might be an awesome anime if you into action and fantasy, well.... you might be wrong and right, let me quickly say why.
The animation style is really kind weird compared to other mainstream anime, so that can put you off, as it did for me at the start, but as i watched it i got used to it, so it didnt bother me later on (although i still dont like it).
So if you can get pass that then this anime isnt that bad actually, it has action, erotic characters(a bit fucked up and i didnt like that
...
part) and some questionable things going on if that intrigues you...
The part that made it a bit different from other anime is that the "good" guys are just op compared to the bad ones and they just whoop their ass easy, no random fake struggling and then they win in the end, and that made me like it.
But the saddest part is that it ends unfinished and i doubt it will ever get the end it needs.
So in the end its not a must watch anime by any means but it can be good for a lot of people.

Saw the art style and i trust MAPPA making a decent anime,decent opening and ending visuals and soundtrack.
This anime is awful,like what is the story?, old guy traps demons because demons kills humans why?,because demons wants to destroy the world and eat humans,oh cool where do they come from?, meh i don't know, anyway cool now that they are sealed humans are safe right?,well apparently the old guys who sealed the demons got mixed in with the pot of dead demon stew and now it has knowledge,and btw it has wifi to control robots from afar.

mc trio of useless girl,smartass(who btw they tease this guy as having evil intentions in ep 1 but they do nothing out of it),and the generic battle genius.
This anime made me uncomfortable,i expected a battle fantasy smoothbrain time not a confusing unrewarding journey with these annoying characters with flashbangs of nudity here and there just to get to the ending where nothing happens.
Watching this anime,you feel like a homeless man sleeping on the cold streets and someone bust a nut at you randomly
