The devastation of the Mugen Train incident still weighs heavily on the members of the Demon Slayer Corps. Despite being given time to recover, life must go on, as the wicked never sleep: a vicious demon is terrorizing the alluring women of the Yoshiwara Entertainment District. The Sound Hashira, Tengen Uzui, and his three wives are on the case. However, when he soon loses contact with his spouses, Tengen fears the worst and enlists the help of Tanjirou Kamado, Zenitsu Agatsuma, and Inosuke Hashibira to infiltrate the district's most prominent houses and locate the depraved Upper Rank Demon.

An anime that I avoided for a very long time. I knew it existed, I even knew most of the things from there and I really didn't understand why it had such a hype. The main problem for me was that it was absolutely everywhere = spoilers, and that my friend was constantly talking about it in connection with her ex (I hated her ex and I felt sorry that it was connected to her, because it's from my sister's fav anime and she kept trying to convince me to watch it. Unsuccessfully...). Anyway, this year my sister started talking about the Demon Slayer movie,
...
that she wanted to go see it with me, to which I told her why not, it's an anime (I love them), but that I wouldn't know anything about it, so she simply summarized it for me. Last week, however, I thought I could at least watch the first episode, no matter what, and in the end, I watched the entire anime by the end of the week, and today I watched the latest movie, which left a hole in me and I don't want to wait so long for the next movies, watafak, I don't understand how you guys could stand it, you have my admiration. I honestly don't even know where to start, because from the first episode of the first season I was hooked and I watched it over and over again and couldn't stop. The characters, the effects, the sounds, the songs, I'm not surprised that it had such hype and I'm really annoyed that I didn't watch it sooner. This anime deserves a lot more recognition than it has so far and the latest movie is amazing. Seriously amazing and the tiring wait was really worth it

Demon Slayer: Entertainment District Arc is so close to being a masterpiece, with many aspects being turned up to 11 but the constant asspulls and other tropes that are common in Demon Slayer (and shounen anime in general) are amplified as much as everything else, making for a mix that doesn't blend well.
This season had all the right ingredients for perfection. Good cast of characters and a good bit of character development, interesting villains with very nice designs and some of the coolest fight scenes in anime. The pacing has some issues with the main fight taking over half the season. With such a long
...
fight, it really isn't that big of an issue but the early season could've been a bit longer and the main fight a bit shorter. The bigger issue would be with the cuts at moments where the fights are at their most intense. But with so many POVs to follow, there's bound to be moments like that.
"The Unentertaining District" - there were so many asspulls and "almost had you" moments that just can't be ignored. Up until this point in the show, there has been one or two situations like that for each fight. But this season does what ends up feeling like more asspulls than all other fights combined - all for a single fight. And even more annoyingly, these asspulls often lead to situations where an attack fails because of a surprise twist. It kicks off a hype moment, which seems to lead to a satisfying payout, only to blueball the viewer repeatedly while breaking the flow of the fight, at least momentarily. Luckily, the most egregious offenders don't end up being the most meaningful ones, which leads to the main payout feeling good.
Overall this was a good season. But the fact that it could've been perfect is what hurts its rating the most.

Like many reviews shared here, Kimetsu no Yaiba is heavily carried by its aesthetics and overall animation. Beyond that, what we see is an empty shell of charactersโsoulless, shallow, and incredibly, painfully boring. The story is completely forgettable and lacks any kind of charm. Instead of watching this anime, you're better off just checking out the fight scenes, plain and simple. Donโt waste your timeโinvest it in something with more substance.
Additionally, it all feels like it was designed to impress on a superficial level: flashy colors, epic music, dramatic yelling... but everything comes off as artificial, like a product made to generate hype without any
...
real concern for what it's actually telling. There are moments where it tries to be emotional, but there's no proper buildup to justify themโso they neither move nor impact. In short, itโs a pretty shell with nothing inside, carried solely by its visual wrapping.
