This was a very cozy and cute watch. From some other reviews people seem to have mislead themselves by not properly reading the synopsis or taking a hint at the promotional material, but this is a slice of life father-daughter anime. Rirui is cute and feels very much like a child and not a stereotypical loli, and Hajime is a stand up guy who likes breasts. As far as fantasy anime go this is not really anything special, but I am basing my rating on what this feels like it really was meant to be, which is a fun and comfortable watch.

You know you're not that into it when you're saving the episode to binge them but not because it's awesome but more because you're trusting in a story that will be satisfying. I feel too bored to call it a recommend, but I do have some positive to say about this series.

I'm a sucker for the story a born-from-nothing that gets by and is pretty strong. Here by Hero standard he's not OP in anyway and is a strong guy with a penchant of a degen with a good heart. Likes booze and ladies but doesn't fall in the loli trap.

The side MC is ... Ruirui a cute succubus with a tomboyish attitude and a need to be an adventurers. The base of the premise is our 29 yo dude takes under his care a succubus child because he too was once a lonely orphan in the slums.

So this is very slice-of-life rather than a shounen which is what I thought it was going to be. The first 6-8 episodes are showing signs of Ruirui getting better but at a pretty slow pace. Until there's some level up and we see he get better. But she's pretty dumb, like most kid that looks barely 10yo. Her enthusiasm makes up for her stupidity.

For me, the pace is basically boring, repetitive and Ruirui's annoying voice gets on my nerves. Her development feels too much like a show about a guardian taking care of a kid, rather than 2 adventurers getting better, getting stronger, as shounen normally goes.

there's - 2 solid episodes which if there was just 2 more of them I'd be feeling positive about this series. The best episode is where the MC just shines as an adventurer and shows his truth strength. It's very satisfying to see a scene with some hardcore action with fights when the whole time we're still fighting slimes and horned rabbit with the occasional hog. Truly if this was more shounen and less a slice of life I would recommend wholeheartedly.

The anime actually started off pretty strong. The early focus on the MC’s difficult childhood and how it shaped him had potential; it felt like it was setting up something more grounded and emotionally driven.

Going in, I expected something closer to Hell Mode or The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash. A rough start, gradual growth, maybe a bit of edge. Instead, it completely pivots into what feels like a children’s show centered around babysitting a loli.

And honestly… I cannot stand her. The character itself is already grating, but the voice acting just makes it worse.

From that point on, the show becomes ... borderline unwatchable. I’m only still watching out of sheer curiosity, just to see if it ever becomes even slightly edgier than Peppa Pig.

What’s frustrating is that there was a better anime here. If they had focused on the MC’s past and character development instead of the current dynamic with the side character, it could’ve been something genuinely interesting.

If you’re looking for something enjoyable, skip this. Seriously. Even generic isekai like My Unique Skill Makes Me OP Even at Level 1, and that’s saying something, is a more tolerable watch than this.
