Among other things, em dashes, parallel structures, awkwardly implemented odd numbered groupings, and most importantly, every single review being drastically different in organization and style. Hell, some of them even unironically use emojis.

That’s kind of my point — you’re looking at where the plot goes, I’m looking at how it’s shown. Framing and panel composition are part of storytelling, and in Dress-Up Darling, they consistently prioritize erotic appeal over character growth. If you don’t see that as a problem, fine, but that doesn’t erase the fact that it’s there.
Misogyny, in its literal sense, is a dislike or prejudice against women as a group — not simply the act of criticizing a female character, nor pointing out objectifying framing in media. In fact, holding female characters to the same level of scrutiny as male characters is part of respecting them as narrative subjects, not reducing them to untouchable icons. Identifying that a work prioritizes sexualization over characterization is not misogyny; it is analysis of storytelling choices. To conflate the two is to confuse depiction with endorsement and to mistake critique for prejudice. |

My critique is about how Marin is presented to the reader, not whether she’s confident in-universe. A character can be confident and still be written in a way that prioritizes sexualized framing over narrative growth.
Saying “you just don’t understand” isn’t a rebuttal — it’s an assumption. And even if the exact measuring-scene setup faded after the early volumes, the panel composition and camera angles remain consistent with the same intent. Confidence doesn’t cancel objectification; in fiction, both can exist together, depending on how the author chooses to frame their character. My point is that how the manga frames Marin often overshadows the story you claim is central. |

the first 29~32 chapters of you're under arrest are up to read on the standard piracy places like mangadex and bato.to, though the rest of the chapters I have on my list are from owning the physical dark horse release, which just published random chapters out of order in english (in which I've been wanting to read the full thing myself admittedly)
