It, a mysterious immortal being, is sent to the Earth with no emotions nor identity. However, It is able to take the shape of those around that have a strong impetus.
At first, It is a sphere. Then, It imitates the form of a rock. As the temperature drops and snow falls atop the moss, It inherits the moss. When an injured, lone wolf comes limping by and lays down to die, It takes on the form of the animal. Finally, It gains consciousness and begins to traverse the empty tundra until It meets a boy.
The boy lives alone in a ghost town, which the adults abandoned long ago in search of the paradise said to exist far beyond the endless sea of white tundra. However, their efforts were for naught, and now the boy is in a critical state.
Acquiring the form of the boy, It sets off on a never-ending journey, in search of new experiences, places, and people.

Its really good, the only people who are saying it falls off or thinks the rest as filler; don't like it because it changes tone and pace after reaching the climax and cant follow the rest of the narrative and realize that its actually still telling a story and isn't finished... that its only leading into the final arc. It's not perfect and can be a bit corny at times, but its really good and doesn't try and take the same boring bleak overdone attitude of eternity and life that other story's and themes do.
The Art is great.
The Characters are amazing.
And as an adventure manga
...
it is realllly good. At least enjoyable, most manga's don't know how to balance their tone and they lean into being way to serious or grim, or too action packed and sensationalized. And To Your Eternity again doesn't do it perfect, but does a really good mix of both while trying to talk about concepts of life.

Stop at 116, itโs seriously an incredible manga. I, on the other hand, tolerated the next 75 terrible chapters for around 13 good ones. Not worth it.
Yes, friends we made along the way, but man it hits hard when itโs about eternity. This is an existential story about someone who canโt die having to find meaning on it. Tragedy after tragedy, you can tell it just sucks to be immortal the way Fushi is, and I loved it. The only way to remember people is by turning into them and feeling their emotional baggage on you. Itโs about the ones you love leaving so
...
much of themselves in you.
The author knows how to do these everlasting themes the justice they deserve. Each little arc, each little character that lives through it was phenomenal. Tears ran down my eyes a couple of times. Hard not to cry when itโs so much about death and its inevitability. You can take this series as bit of a serial, with each season dealing with a new cast of characters with only one overarching, developing one at the center, but done so well that you stay invested in each one.
Itโs also a mystery about what even the main character is and why he was created. Both things motivated me to read it in a flash. It gets you, and it got me to keep reading through the bad stuff, which is just awful. We gotta address the bad more.
Before the good segment ended, it managed to cathartically wrap up everything the main character went through. So much sadness, so much hardship in a massive battle against the main villains. All out war, not in the classical shonen style where itโs too many characters all at once. This manga knows (knew) how to keep it small, and concise so the audience never loses track of anybody. Thereโs hereditary baggage, generational problems, societal issues, religion. Everything explodes right at the end, into a beautiful ending that grabs everything you know and uses it to maximum emotional perfection.
The ending was perfect, there was even narration, and time passage, and it was done, exceptโฆ the mystery wasnโt solved. You can chuck it up to not mattering, hell, it doesnโt really matter by the end. Not entirely. Itโs probably the only reason the next 70 chapters exist, and I hate them.
Thereโs one fundamental problem with the story. The catharsis and new thing that happened before the cutoff, chapter 116, manages to erase all stakes going forwards. The importance on life gets erased in the present era, and itโs turned into just killing the big bad, and making a slightly slice-of-life story out of it. The message was entirely diluted because of something that shouldโve ended the story perfectly well with a mystery left unresolved.
An entire HUGE arc went by, terribly. The next one didnโt promise much either, making an entire world from futuristic scratch that did not work at all to interest me. One, and only ONE storyline was worth it. The scientists almost at the very end of the last arc, which is only the resolution of the mystery introduced there. The ending was pretty good, but my God, not worth 70 bad chapters. I canโt stress this enough; no good ending warrants that much tolerance from a reader.
I canโt say to skip to the most sensical part, chapter 199.2, because thereโs still a lot of context and evolution missing. Itโs not good, but it happened, and not knowing it makes the actual ending worse. If you wanna know the real ending to the manga, you have to thread through everything that was wrong with it. Itโs a great bookend at least. Just follow my advice, stop at 116. Nothing after that is worth the time youโll waste on it.
6/10. If 116 was the end, Iโd give it a straight 8.5/10, but itโs not.

Look buddy, listen up pal, I donโt want to hate it. I really donโt. I actually quite liked it for 100 chapters or so. But then, the bad times came. Never have I read something that instantly made me hate it as much as this did. It just becomes shit. Full on stinky, smelly, wet, sloppy dog shit.
If you have the misfortune of reading this manga, please stop before chapter 119. Please. The only reason it gets a 2 is because I liked the first part.
Without spoiling, it manages to completely lose all stakes, embrace a bunch of shitty tropes, and overall lose
...
everything that made it interesting in the first place. God forbid there be consequences and long lasting emotional impacts, letโs fuck around with a school arc.
