You gotta poke around more, that's how I figure stuff out. I'd definitely re-watch OG Dragon Ball myself, I actually meant to re-watch the first arc or two a while back but I guess I was too busy with other stuff - I still think that's the best part of all of Dragon Ball, that first search for the Dragon Balls and the first Tenkaichi Tournament. Pilaf and his goons are still my favourite villains in the entire series as well, Majin Buu isn't far behind though, and even if I like some parts later better, those first twenty six episodes or so are really consistent.
That's when I remember it being on television too, and seeing as you've seen the Transformers shows I saw as a kid too and adding on that I'm English myself, there's a good chance you'll understand me when I say that back then I hated Dragon Ball Z and never watched it because it took Transformers spot on television lmao. I actually meant how long re-watching nine hundred episodes of Naruto took but I figure you probably aren't sure how long that took either then. The Garlic Jr. filler arc right after Freeza was alright, but the little bits of filler here and there like Goku and Piccolo learning to drive or the Other World Tenkaichi Tournament were really good. Yeah I don't really know why, I've never really discussed filler much before and certainly not as it was airing, seeing as I can easily imagine people being nowhere near as harsh on it now that they're finished, it's probably that weird insistence on everything advancing the plot that a lot of people seem to have, as well as "this wasn't in the manga so it's bad". Filler in a sense is what makes the Sailor Moon anime as well, so yeah there's definitely good, really good even, filler. I'm certainly not the most qualified to talk on the subject but I can't actually think of any filler that I didn't like, but I definitely hated the pacing of the fight against Freeza and I'd take filler over that any day.
Do you like, consciously know why that is or do you just sort of like what's anime and prefer it because of that? I think I could say why I prefer manga; stuff like the sheer variety available, all the interesting things you can do with panelling, and being a lot nicer to look at. Have you ever watched the fanmade Naruto Kai edit? I figured it was more of a case of it not really fitting in because of that so it just gets left out, but it being a rights issue is also a very real possibility. I can indeed, I don't keep track of it on here but the list of manga I want to read is about as long as the list of anime you want to watch, so I definitely understand^^ Yeah finding a balance is great and I'd love to manage that myself.

And seeing as you've read Naruto as well, do you not prefer the manga then? Well I mean obviously not I suppose but like, for me at least I think I'd only ever re-watch Dragon Ball Z if it was with a friend, otherwise I'd much rather read the manga - granted I haven't actually read the manga yet but I'm not putting myself through Freeza again lmao. To be fair I do actually quite enjoy most of the filler in Z, it's the pacing of other parts of it that are the issue; I've heard Naruto is even worse with regards to filler but it is something that the manga doesn't have if you enjoy it. Actually I'm also forgetting that I like manga more than anime myself, which definitely colours my opinions. I want to watch through all of Digimon myself, never really watched it as a kid, but after reading all the manga a few years ago I'm quite interested. I half want to (re-)watch all the Pokemon films as well. Haha, have fun with that then!
Capsule Monsters was dub only, that's almost certainly why. I don't no, I would like to mind you but I just have a hard time getting around to it because there's so much new stuff I want to watch.
yea i do finish em fast for sure, and yes the mcs are always my favourite. Except the school days mc, he pissed me off so bad but i loved him in the beginning.. i guess i have a love for all mcs. they have always been my favourite, villain or good or even shallow. ooo yea i loved kazu!! kazus design is cool and hes cool in general. Thank so much for the reccommendation!! it really reminded me of some of my fav animes with the rom-com style and the shonen aspects if that..makes sense
Oh neat, I'm definitely a stickler for watching the original so I can't say I have any interest in ever watching the dubs but that's super cool of you honestly. What made you finally want to check out the sub then?
I don't think I ever saw the original on television, I actually started with the card game before any of the anime series but I definitely watched at least some of GX on television before watching all of it on YouTube and whatever sites showed up on Google for the episodes that never got dubbed; at around the same time that was, not like years later or anything. I couldn't tell you why I never watched 5D's at the time, I don't really remember being super aware of it, maybe that's why; like, I do remember thinking Yuma's hair was ridiculous but not really anything about 5D's. I also watched, of all things, all of Capsule Monsters on YouTube, as well as I think about sixty episodes of the original. Oh wow, your re-watch count is insane, and re-watching something as long as Yu-Gi-Oh! is crazy, so mad respect for all of that. I had to know; you've re-watched Dragon Ball Z five times?!? I am so happy so see someone love something this much, this is great.
D/D/Ds are super cool, I love them all being based on scientists and mythological creatures and figures; I have a half-decent (pre-links) deck but never got around to finding somewhere to play so I've never really used it. The upside to that I suppose is that a lot of cards have gotten a lot cheaper since then, but then again I don't know if D/D/Ds even run cards like Titanic Galaxy or Crystal Wing anymore. Did you watch a lot of Yu-Gi-Oh! on television as it aired then or what; I'm just a bit curious as to why you didn't watch them subbed in the first place if you're interested in re-watching them like that. I've heard people comment specifically on GX's dub being more or less an entirely different show, so it wouldn't surprise me if the rest are more or less the same, especially for a much more recent series like Arc-V. The various manga though yeah, those all seem pretty different.
Ah yeah, I always seem to end up wanting to do things in a specific order^^ Probably because I have far more ideas about things I want to read or watch than I actually have time. My favourite character is definitely Yuya, but it'd be hard to say why if you don't know what the manga is like because that plays into why he's my favourite a lot. Yuto and Reiji are really good as well yeah, although I'm pretty sure they're completely different characters in the anime compared to how I know them. I love people poking fun at Reiji being called Declan in the dub by calling D/D/Ds Declan's Dangerous Dudes.
Oh cool! As you can probably gather, I highly recommend it^^ Ah yeah, if it's got the plastic wrap I think it should; that's actually what got me into the manga in the first place - wanting one of the cards, because for some reason people sell the cards for more than the volumes cost. I never ended up doing anything with any of the cards but I'm super glad I got the manga^^ Oh I get you there; I want to read the OCG Structures manga before I get to reading the GX, 5D's, and ZeXal manga, there's OCG Stories as well I suppose and then I'll read the original manga (and R) after all of those.
Ah well then in that case have fun with all of the films then! I watched all three films sometime after I watched the series and I remember liking it more then than I did at first, but I think that was just it growing on me so I don't really know how they compare.
