I actually enjoyed Wake Up, Girls. I'm not usually one to watch an idol show but I decided to check it out alongside Love Live. The characters were all archtypes and it followed a formula that you'd normally see in a sports anime (gather the team, bonding, in-house rivalry, practice, tournaments, etc.), but it was still entertaining in the end. If you decide to check it out just note that there's a prequel movie that goes into the formation of the band before the series starts.
Ah, I get it. So the reason for that is just that you want to see the BD version. I do respect you man, but alack waiting this long is impossible for me. When it comes to masterpieces like Mushishi I simply can’t wait for BD to appear.
>I see, happens to everyone. It's bad when most people's opinions never change because they don't like learning. :(
Well, it is the same as saying that I am dead. After all progress, for us humans, means life.
Ah, I see. So as far as I see, you are a fan of English dubs, aren’t you? I don’t know about you, but in my opinion Mushishi has of the best Japanese cast that I have ever seen in my life. I can relax listening to their voices alone! I wish there were more anime like Mushishi. :(
>Thank you so much! I'm looking forward to what you have to say with Jin-Roh as well. :)
My pleasure! Hope you had a great one. Damn, you are almost one month older than I, which makes you my senpai, tee-hee.
I have just finished Jin-Roh and here are my thoughts on it:
When I first saw the anime’s poster I thought that it would be something like Hellsing or Hellsing Ultimate. I mean, these red-eyes people are something like Nazi robots or something. That is why, I was 100% sure that Jin-rou(Roh) would be nothing, but a waste of time for me.
Once again, I was wrong. But, I must say that I wasn’t disappointed. Sometimes you just want to take a break from action based shows and to see something which may make you think about thing or two. Jin-Rou did its job perfectly well. While there were some propaganda themes and things I didn’t like, I still can’t give it something less than the 10 out of 10 score.
Some people think that Japan has always been rich country knowing nothing about problems with its people or something else. Americans, Russians, Europeans, they all destroyed Japan. ( I don’t want to say that they(Japanese) were good guys. They weren’t. But, alack when reading history you will never find good guys. Well, except Switzerland, I guess). So, returning back to our topic, it was interesting for me to see all these trials of Japanese people. They did one hell of a job to become what they are now.
The show’s protagonist was really interesting for me. I do understand that sometimes it was pretty damn hard to tell what he was going to do. But, I still, respect Kazuki Fuse’s life philosophy.
So my next anime is going to be Hachimitsu no Clover or what was it.
Well, the difference between your works and mine is that I don’t compose music. In most cases I just use the finished works of some talented guys and trying to repeat them. I do compose music sometimes, but in result I just forget about it in a day or two, because it is not what I want to hear. I want to reach perfection so to say.
Thank you for that forum post. I will probably start Hachimitsu to Clover next week and tell you my opinion on it.
>If you want then do so.
>I hope so.
>Yeah, you did tell me about your music. And it is just awesome.
>I'll take you up on that.
>Practice makes perfect.
>You didn’t.
>Well, the synopsis sounds pretty interesting.
>I can’t say that the story won’t click with me, perhaps I may like it more after second watch. I will surely send you a message once I rewatch it.
Well, the only thing you should think about is your conscience. I don’t really care about other people likes and dislikes. As long as my conscience is pure, it is okay.
Now with all these talks about FLCL I want to rewatch it. I miss Haruko.
Exactly. Even someone like Hideaki is still a human. But how can I explain it? It is my hope and foolishness at the same time. I mean, I know that the probability that the last movie won’t be as good as people hope exists. And the chances are quite high. But, I am telling myself that Hideaki won’t disappoint us. I just can’t imagine that he will disappoint us. Hideaki, for me, is one of the reasons why I watch and why I started anime.
Well. I don’t know. The best thing I could have ever said is I don’t know, lol. I mean, I can’t imagine people who write script for such works as FLCL, it is something I will never understand. I like art, I am a guitarist and writing a song isn’t really difficult for me. But, when it comes to an anime story-line I think of people who think it out like they are gods or something. What I mean is that I will never write a normal story-line for an anime.
Deal man!
Yeah! That’s why I don’t want to watch it now. I want to fully enjoy Aria, I want to enjoy it as much as I can and I will definitely try to write a review on it, to show people who don't know about it that there is such masterpiece as Aria.
Yes, exactly. The level five kanji isn’t that popular. But there are still level 3 and level 4 kanji, that’s scary. Well, practice makes perfect.
Well, I don’t think that there is slice of life I won’t like. I don’t really remember anything about this show and that’s really bad. I have to fix it to get down to the second season.
Thanks for that. I really appreciate it man!
I still want to give it another try, let’s say, I want to give it the last chance. Perhaps I will like it more this time, time will tell.
I would feel uncomfortable too. Even people in real life don't say bye to me when they are leaving, lets say class, even though I know them a bit,. It's like people don't matter in college. LOL
Well, I'm really looking forward to it then. :)
Sorry, had to tell you the truth about Hideaki Anno's involvement in FLCL. LOL Doesn't make it any less of a great show. He also voice a cat in FLCL and did some key animation. :)
LOL Thanks for considering me a close relative! HAHA
When writing Evangelion, he was very interested in Freudian psychology. That interest, coupled with his depression, spille dinto Evangelion and made it what it is today (Mainly the first series and End of Evangelion).
I was confused as all hell with Evangelion Rebuild 3. It was like, he did one of those random, and dumb tim skips (sorry to say), and made everything extremely confusing for me. I have no idea how he is going to fix it all in film 4, but I have seen crazier things happen before the last episode of an anime and the last episode either fixed it or left it off in a satisfying way. So we'll see what will happen in Rebuild 4 when it comes out.
I really want to see "Nadia - The Secret of Blue Water" and "His and Her Circumstances" which Hideaki Anno directed.
Like how FLCL is really just a coming of age story with its main focus on puberty? It's such a well constructed series for just 6 episodes! It's alos very nostalgic for me, so I can't deny that. LOL
But Ginga Eiyuu Denstsu has an 8, Monster has a 9, Darker than Black (First season) has an 8, Gundam has an 8, Uchuu Senkan Yamato has a 8, and Uchuu Senkan Yamato 2199 has a 9 on your profile.
By the way, you have only seen Aria the Animation? I recommend the rest to be seen as soon as you can. You won't regret it.
If only a few really know it, what about the Japanese? Are you talking about Kanji and all of that jazz?
If I see anything that you haven't seen that I could recommend, I'll make sure to tell you about it. I bet you have already seen everything I have seen. LOL
I could make you change you mind with your score on Honey and Clover some day when I write that what it means to me. That's probably the closest to perfect series I have ever seen. I'll make sure to write the reasons some day.
Thanks for teh great comment! Good luck with school!

Well, yeah, it may be pretty uncomfortable to be in such situation. I am not really talkative with my classmates, but we at least greet each other. To be honest, I don’t care about other people. You should be polite and you do it only for yourself, for conscience' sake so to say.
Without a doubt, it doesn’t make FOOLYCOOLY worse. If you want to touch the robot topic in your anime you should ask Hideaki, the father of mecha, for help.
The third movie was confusing and you are right about it. MISATOOOOOOOO!!!! MISATOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! I WON’T FORGIVE YOU FOR THAT. Ehem, I personally don’t find it bad since I didn’t expect to see such turn. Not saying that I have hope in Hideaki I am more than sure that the last Evangelion will end as something mind-blowing, I mean as a fan I really want to see it you know. And what is really important after seeing the last movie I will have to decide which version of Evangelion was better and why.
Not quite, it is connected with that huge iron aka ‘Medical Mechanica’. An evil corporation which spoils human lives by mass-producing robots and controlling human minds. Remember these ‘steams’… They didn’t explain anything about these things, because they left it for the viewer to understand it. So my guess is that these irons had political overtones. (Took me awhile to understand it).
I recommend you not to pay attention to my rating. I don’t want to say, it’s none of your business or something. My rating . And yes, I know that Aria won’t make me regret about my decision to continue watching it. But the problem here is that I don’t want to watch it now. Aria is a delicacy and I don’t appreciate people who don’t enjoy eating delicacies.
Yes, exactly, kanji. As far as I remember, there are 5 levels of kanji. I hardy know only the first level. Seeing level 5 kanji makes me want to drop Japanese. It is scary man.
By the way, even though S1 of Hachimitsu no Clover is my favorite, you haven't seen S2 of Hachimitsu no Clover. Most people like that portion of the series the most. Like I said in my previous comment, I'll write down the reasons that the first seasons are so profound to me when I ahve time. LOL
Keep pursuing your dreams! ~ Wynn
Wow, thank you. But I must say that I won’t watch now. I will have to rewatch S1 before watching S2. You know, I don’t really remember anything about it, I feel that it was pretty boring for me, who know I may like it more now.
Okay, here are anime that I would recommend that I have seen and you have not seen them.
Some of them I'm amazed you haven't seen. LOL
I will sort them into groups too, since some are by specific directors.
First here are some really unique anime I recommend.
Hyouge Mono - Is a very strange series. It has beautiful moments, and some of the most ridiculous moments I have ever seen in my life. Even crazier than Gintama. You'll see what I mena when you start watching it. LOL It has to do with an antique collector in the Edo period. He calls himself an Aesthete. Many people in the series are Aesthetes, and appreciate the art of tea making and serving (Whihc was a huge thing back in teh edo period). It's just a really unique series. I'm glad it exists. LOL
Princess Tutu - Man, this series sure does change after 13 episodes. KnightRyder wasn't able to finish it after the first 10 episodes, but I still recommend it. It's very different and unexpected. I won't spoil anything here. :)
Kuuchuu Buranko - Has to do with this eccentric psychologist named Irabu. He has eccentric ways of curing his patients. It's a very... Different series. LOL The direction is especially unique. It's the same director as Mononoke (The colorful TV Horror series). I recommend it (It's only 11 EPs anyway).
Jin-Rou Wolf Brigade - I don't highly recommend this one because I don't remember it too well. But it is definitely worth a watch. A unique anime film written by Mamoru Oishii. I think it's about a soldier who saw a girl commit suicide through suicide bombing, and is haunted by the image of it. It's a thought provoking series (Looks great too!). It's REALLY dark though. LOL
Up next is work by Masaaki Yuasa. You ahve already seen some of his best work (Kaiba and Tatami Galaxy), but I will recommend otehrs of his that are still worth a watch.
Mind Game - extremely surreal and and thought provoking series about life and accomplishing your goals. Holy crap is this anime weird but worth the watch. Also I think it has the best montage I have ever seen in my life (Beginning and the end of the film I think.), they could have been films in themselves!
Nekojiru-sou - Is just a damn surreal series that is worthy of 30 minutes of your time. You may love it, you may hate it, I still recommend it.
Kemonozume - Now this one is subjective. It's a really unique and weird series. Some people are turned off by the art or the general story. But if you liked a few episodes of it, I recommend the rest. It's a mature series full of lustful love. HAHA
Okay, now time for to recommend Satoshi Kon. I knwo you don't like Perfect Blue or Paprika that much, but the rest his works are still worthy of at least one watch (I love everything he has made by the way. Especially Tokyo Godfathers and Perfect Blue).
Millennium Actress - This is a simple story, but teh way it is told and directed makes it a worthy entry in your memory. Very well done. It's basically about a woman looking for her love.
Paranoia Agent - I saw this one a long time ago, but I recommend it. There are lots of different stories in this series, but it's not really episodic. It's another strange 13 episode series with an ending. :)
Memories - Have you seen any of the compilation anime films that come out? Like Genius Party, Animatrix, Neo Tokyo, Otaku no Video, ect.? Memories is the cult classic of them all, and it probably has the best most cohesive stories. The reason why I put it under Satishi Kon is because he wrote Magnetic Rose (The first segment). It's really a production by the director of Akira, Katsuhiro Otomo.
Lastly, and I can't believe you haven't seen some of these, Hayao Miyazaki! Who doesn't know about this man?
Kaze no Tani no Nausicaa - WHy have you not seen this? It's required watching. LOL
Tenkuu no Shiro Laputa - And so is this. LOL
Kurenai no Buta - Now this one, I recommend one one basis. It's like watching and anime version of Casablanca. Except without the negativity. LOL A really unique series, especially for Hayao-san.
Mimi wo Sumaseba - This one was written by Hayao-san. This is avery slow series, but it kind of seeps into you, like a good soup. It's a slow build, but a very satisfying one. This is Yoshifumi Kondo's directorial debut, and he had a lot of potential. But he died of and aneurysm from overworking. Tragic.
At least watch it in memory of Yoshifumi-san if anything, but it's a great film.
Anyway, those are currently my recommendation! That took a while. LOL I hope I inspired you to see some of these great anime!
Many I wanted to recommend you already saw. :P
Keep pursuing your dreams! ~ Wynn
Man, thank you for that. Some of them look REALLY interesting. But the only problem I have is that I can’t find Jin-Rou Wolf Brigade on mal.
Oh, I also want to help you change your mind on Eureka 7 someday. I'll write some analysis for you when I can.
I'm sure you don't like how similar it is to Evangelion, right? LOL
I'll tell you the differences that make it an original series someday.
Keep pursuing your dreams! ~ Wynn
Everything, but not Eureka. You see when I watch anime there should be something unique which will make me want to see more. Eureka didn’t have that unique something. Just forget about it, I will never rewatch Eureka. I, however, would love to discuss Hachimitsu no Clover with you once I rewatch it.
Why is my profile name in your description box. LOL
Good luck with school work (I assume)!
Please don't forget my previous comments. :)
Keep pursuing your dreams! ~ Wynn
Ha-ha. You are not the first person who asks me such questions. I use it as a reminder. :)
Thank you man, I also wish you good luck. Don’t worry, I don’t have problems with memory anymore, tee-hee. I just have to answer to tons of PMs plus comments on my page. But the main problem here is my laziness. :-(
