I don’t actually travel that much, because I’m more of an indoors person, so most of the time I get kind of dragged into it. That said, I won’t lie, I always end up loving it in the end, lol. And yeah, the 2020s have really sucked so far, with the last couple of years being especially crappy. I really hope 2026 turns things around, though I’m trying not to get my hopes up too much.
Also yeah, I randomly added him as a friend and pretty quickly figured out it was probably him when he started brought up the exact same stuff we’re into. That was honestly really nice!

Damn, I totally thought that was gonna be the Sunken Sea update. Wishful thinking. And yeah, I can't possibly forget about that weapon line, I always have a lot of fun with those, especially Galaxy Smasher with Yharon. I think it lets you skip the entire second phase if you time the huge burst of damage while he's still regenerating. I personally never did that since I'm not a fan of cheesing bosses, but I've always thought it was the funniest cheese because you basically shut him down before he has the chance to do anything, and the most epic part of the OST just abruptly ending. Speaking of cheesing, I was equally as shocked when I defeated Destroyer in literally five seconds using Submarine Shocker, and speed killing him wasn't even my intention. This mod really has some huge balancing issues.

Oh, that honestly sounds really cool and even more badass. It just makes me even more excited to finally fight him. I’ve already reached the Pantheon, but I was a bit confused about where to start. I don’t really plan on doing EVERY boss there, so it’d be great if you could recommend which ones are the most worth fighting. I haven’t played Limbus Company yet. How good is it? I am familiar with Library of Ruina though, and I think it’s a great game, even if I’m not usually a big fan of strategy games, much less turn-based ones. I’ve also been interested in playing 13 Sentinels, but probably not anytime soon.

For some reason I don't think I can see the rating of Sylvestaff on the document, but I wouldn't rank that weapon lower than a B, but anyways. A lot of genuinely great weapons are often overlooked. I've been interested in playing rogue, but given that I do find it pretty boring for the vast majority of the game, I never actually wanted to commit to a rogue run. The end game weapons are so badass though. I've watched Yardis do a rogue playthrough, and it was busted. Sure, it's kinda weak in some stages of the game, but when it peaks, it really destroys everything.
There's also a similar case with the enchantment Aflame, where if you have Radiance equipped, it just cancels the damage over time debuff entirely, and for some reason, I think it also heals you. That might be a glitch, and I don't know if it's been patched yet.

Damn, I didn't know it could hold all the way up to Polterghast as well, and 2 minutes is honestly great for a weapon that you can craft right after Moon Lord, or is it just that Polterghast is a boss that takes a long time to defeat by default? I forgot what I used against the boss, but I'm pretty sure I killed it under minutes. Yharon took me quite a long time to kill though, definitely more than 3 minutes. And great top 5, mine would also look almost exactly like that, although I'd replace the hammers with Scythe of the Old God, Terratomere, or Death's Ascension. Calamity sure has amazing ranger weapons. Oh, and I forgot to mention how great Kingsbane is against WotG Exos, almost as good as Ark of the Cosmos.

Do you mean 200 attempts no-hit him or just defeat him the first time around? Because it easily took me around 100 attempts just to defeat him myself, and I still took a lot of hits. No-hitting is probably out of the question for me, not gonna lie. Especially if you look at how many times I got cooked by DoG...

But all things considered, I killed him pretty damn fast after I decided to switch to fully offensive setup with Death's Ascension, which is quite broken in Infernum. Of course, his head was always one-shotting me unless I had my dodge up, but it also made my suffering end much quicker. I really suck at performing the same thing over and over again without losing tempo, my brain just glitches at one point. Still, my reaction speed is pretty fast if I can predict what's gonna happen, which is why I found Infernum Yharon to be easier, especially since I also suck with bullet hell, which is what got me killed a lot of times against Infernum Scal's desperation phase. Nonetheless, she still took me less tries than Yharon or even Infernum Exo-Mechs. Also, I just realized I wrote Essence Reaver instead of Essence Flayer lmao. Essence Reaver is actually an item from League of Legends. I always get the two mixed up, and it doesn't help that they're both scythes and look pretty similar, at least in my head. Who knows, maybe the devs also thought about that item when they made the weapon.
I don't dislike Astrum Deus at all, but I do feel like he's just a bit underwhelming for the stage of the game where you're supposed to fight him. No contest for Old Duke, though. Honestly deserves all the hate. That easter egg really puts a smile on my face. And speaking of which, Emptiness Sprayer is the funniest item to use in the game.

It’s really nice to hear you had such a great time over Christmas and New Year’s. Hong Kong sounds amazing, especially if it topped Italy for you. As for me, I didn’t really celebrate either holiday myself. I used to enjoy festivities a lot more when I was younger, but over time I kind of lost interest, and it doesn’t help that celebrating them isn’t really part of my family’s culture. So unless friends invite me out somewhere, I usually just let them pass quietly.
And hey, if you ever feel like sharing more stories sometime, I’d be happy to listen. No pressure, though.

I feel the same way completely. My first base Calamity playthrough was extremely fun, but far surpassed by the Infernum and WotG now that I played those. I can't imagine having that much fun without those in a new run. The next Calamity update is a pretty big one, so all the new content might make up for what’s lost, but honestly, I don’t think I’ll ever fully get used to not having those. One weapon I'm very excited about it getting a rework is Entropic Claymore. The sprite just looks so damn sick and is one of my favorites in the game, but the weapon itself is so mediocre and feels dull to use. All the Meld gear just looks so cool. And by the way, the issue I had with data erasure wasn't even a problem with the mod itself. I found out the actual culprit was Boss Checklist, and I was very confused why. I have no idea why that piece of shit reset all my modded boss progression all of a sudden, but it sure chose to do it at the worst possible time lol. I've removed it and replaced it with Boss Checklist Lite, so I hope I never have a similar issue in the future.

I actually haven’t fought Pure Vessel yet, but purely from a design standpoint, he’s easily my favorite boss visually and thematically. That said, my favorite characters overall are still the Hollow Knight himself and Hornet. There’s just something about both of them that really sticks with me, especially with how much story and emotion they carry without saying much. I’m a bit all over the place with games right now anyway. I’m trying to finish Drakengard 3 (I never completed the final route or the DLC chapters that I've been planning to play for a long while now), and I’ve also been replaying Elden Ring: SOTE, so Hollow Knight progress is a little slower for now. Still, every time I come back to it, the combat just reminds me why it’s so special.

I was never curious about Slick Cane so I never bothered checking it out, but how the hell is that a pre-hardmode weapon? Calamity isn't exactly known for being a balanced mod, but from what you're telling me, this is just blatant proof of that, and the fact they let it slide is just questionable. I can imagine it not being fun at all, not just because it's broken, but boring as well. And thanks for the document, I will definitely be using it in the future.
Always good to know you also love Slaughterer just as much. It's so fun to use, looks amazing, and absolutely shreds bosses like the Guardians, Providence, and Ceaseless Void (who's way more fun in Infernum imo), just the go-to ranger weapon for post-Moonlord, all the way up to the Sentinels. It's easily in my top 3 or 2, with some of my favorite modded weapons being Terratomere, Ark of the Elements, Scythe of the Old God, Kingsbane, and Sylvestaff. There are also so many guns that I love, like Flak Kraken and Sevens Striker, but can't really choose between all of them. Personally, I don't like using Zenith even in modded. I feel like its damage is way too mediocre and it's outclassed by a lot of other options. Might just be my own issue, though. But I see most people like using it. Also, I remember crafting a weapon a while ago named Rem's Revenge. It was nice seeing a Re:Zero reference (I think it was?), even though the weapon was just another flail.

Yeah, I totally get what you mean. Honestly, half of that fight for me was just running away and trying to stay as far from him as possible while spamming Essence Reaver, flying up and down like a maniac, and then randomly crashing into his fire tornadoes whenever I wasn’t careful lmao. It definitely felt less like learning the fight and more like barely holding things together at times. That said, I did actually like some parts of it. The ring of fire attacks were pretty cool, and I enjoyed the desperation phase where he just starts dashing nonstop. I thought that part was surprisingly well telegraphed, all things considered. Overall though, I’d probably rank Infernum Yharon at a C, and honestly the same goes for base Yharon for me. Funny enough, Infernum Yharon still took me fewer tries than base Calamity Yharon. And yeah, if by ancient fart bag you mean Old Duke, then fuck that piece of garbage times 100. Easily the worst boss in my opinion and an instant F tier, no contest. His drops are also of no use to me, personally.

I see. So it's like a Shounen/Seinen series, where a main character is equal in strength or skill to a villain lol. Good to know. Both my husband and my brother played the mod before, and they genuinely loved it (they're veteran mod players), so I've been meaning to touch it for the longest time. I know that there is a lot of grinding in the mod, but I don't mind that. Besides, grinding in Terraria is hella fun.

Hope you're doing well. I apologize for the terribly late reply. I've been very busy with college and work, especially for the past month, which was just so full for me. I still managed to complete a few shows in my free time, though I haven't played any games much.
Also, Merry Christmas. Hope you had a great day.

To be completely honest, and I'm sorry, but I really have no clue how that would go or what you mean by that😭. I really haven't thought that far about it... But yes, I would love an epilogue of Silva, and I think it's been rumored that a mini biome for Silva's remains will be added at the bottom of the Abyss. That really sounds so cool. I have managed to finish WotG with Infernum by playing it here and there, and it was extremely fun. Probably the best modded playthrough I've had. I feel like it would be very difficult to do without Infernum in future playthroughs, so it's sad that it won't be getting any updates anymore. Hopefully tough, there will be projects by other teams who want to make a more recent port of the mod for future updates.
Solyn's questline was very endearing, and the mod progression was very immersive, and although I did encounter some data erasure problems with modded progression in the end (just when I was about to fight Nameless Deity), it's nothing I couldn't fix. I had to force spawn Solyn in the Eternal Garden. Kinda anti climactic, but same end result, and I got my ending.

Now that I'm on vacation, I'd like to actually complete Hollow Knight and get the fourth ending. I haven't done the Pantheon yet, but I'm very excited to. Pure Vessel is the coolest-looking boss in the game and the one I'm most excited to fight. Actually defeating Nightmare King Grim and Zote's final form (I might not be able to do this one lol) is also on my list. I'm not skilled enough yet to do challenge runs, but I have watched a few videos of those on YouTube and they looked so fun. I have already bought Silksong and I'm excited to play it soon. And yeah, some Hollow Knight OSTs are so peak they could easily fit in Dark Souls. But personally, I never listen to music while playing games.

Yeah, Slick Cane is bs. I've looked it up, and it's just a total pay to win weapon, even more than coin gun. I've never used Vile Feeder, but I did temporarily switch to a summoner loadout in the end game, and it was absolutely busted. Though the reason I did that wasn't even for its power, but because one of the summoner weapons, Lilies of Finality, is a Signalis reference, and it's one of my favorite games, so I just had to use it lol. It's always cool to know that you like the Ark trilogy as much as I do. I feel like a lot of players don't really like it or are indifferent to it, but Ark of the Elements is one of my favorite weapons in the mod along with Superradiant Slaughterer (my beloved). Ark of the Cosmos is the most disliked out of the bunch, but I did find it to be a very useful (and fun) weapon to use singlehandedly against the WotM Exos, which are honestly so well done and much more fun than Infernum or base Calamity Exos.
I think I remember you mentioning that Infernum Yharon sucked, but I actually preferred him that way a lot more. I'm not a big fan of base Calamity Yharon being a bullet hell boss, and Infernum Yharon, with all his dashes and cooler attacks, feels like you're fighting an actual dragon rather than dodging fire balls for most of the fight.

I'll definitely let you know, and we could definitely talk about it if you want. Like I said, I've been too busy to start anything for the past month and a half or so, but since I'm free now and the novels are actually not long at all, I'll try and give it a read soon!
