Uma Musume is SUPER popular in Japan but is surprisingly unpopular everywhere else. I think many people outside of Japan are put off by the premise of famous racehorses reincarnating is anthro horse girls in another world and having contests. I mean...that is pretty silly. Also, where is Secretariat chan? Did they not include her because she'd be too OP? That horse could win races by half the entire fucking track and his records still stand from over 50 years ago.
I'm honestly curious to watch it and see what the hype is about. lol
Also, isn't your avatar from Patlabor? I've only seen the second film and I enjoyed it, although I thought it could have been cut short by ~10 minutes. Even my father thought so, however he liked it.
