Hey, thanks man! That review I felt a bit self-conscious about because I didn't substantiate a lot of my points with concrete details (in an effort to prevent spoilers for people who still wanted to see it for themselves) and in the process a lot of my claims I was worried would be seen as unfounded or ambiguous. But I'm glad to hear that they still managed to resonate with you, and it means a lot to hear that from you :)
Yea, it's honestly kinda scary how many mangas and animes have fan service to a downright creepy/immersion breaking point and not a single viewer bats an eyelid - but such is the way of desensitised young folks who grew up on anime and all it's weirdness. I'm glad I'm not the only one though that was put off by the fan service, really don't feel good as a 20+ year old seeing the frames and the plot points, especially knowing a much older person had to draw and ink those panels!
Your Tokyo Revengers review was a particularly enjoyable read :) Though i don't agree with it it's extreamly well written and got me curious what your thoughts on other anime might be
Like with this line
And NO, to anyone claiming this is a good example of a "multidimensional emotionally in touch with himself" character, please go watch some josei to see what that looks like
So what josei would you recommend that have "multidimensional emotionally in touch with themselves" characters?
Also what non-josei anime do you think ace on the subject?
In hindsight I shouldn't really do that. I should just ignore....but there are SO MANY people like that on here, using MaL as if it was their Youtube-Channel, or something.
Anyways, thanks for noticing.
Dorohedoro, Nana AND Bebop in your favorites? We can be friends^^
I truly believed I would fall into the camp of people who loved the ending. And to be fair I don't despise it like so many manga readers seem to. But honestly I started to get that sinking feeling pretty early on... probably when Jean was holding Reiner up and their ODM was broken. Which was...only 13 minutes into the special? And then things just started falling apart from there. Mikasa's kill meant nothing to me (granted I had been spoiled). By the time we got to Armin and Eren's final conversation, it just felt like "things are happening" but my brain wasn't processing it anymore.
that's awesome to hear; i always love hearing stories of people who grew up listening to LP and people talking about how much the band means to them :) not one single bad song on either ht or meteora - i could put both albums on a loop and listen all day hahaha. man i can't even really pick favourite songs,, so many good ones. current faves are probably a place for my head, blackout, figure.09, & fighting myself (this one's been on repeat since they dropped the 20th anniversary edition of meteora) !
