I read your review of Suuiki, just the first paragraph, and somehow I'm here to comment.
It's nothing out of ordinary, but it resonated with how I sometimes feel like the things I've probably seen a thousand times over somehow suddenly seem fascinating. With how, while reading a manga or watching an anime, sometimes looking at the art, I'm just struck by the beauty of things very much commonplace.
Your mentioning the water and rivers gave me a flashback to when i saw a particular episode of Mushishi Zoku Shou. It's the ending scenes of episode 7, and it's just.. so mesmerizing.. the art, the sound effects of flowing water, falling rain, the awesome score (it's 'hideru ame' if i recall correctly), you get the feeling of being immersed in the element that is water.. like you're surrounded, and you feel it in your mind, not as a tactile sense, but you understand what it is like nonetheless. It's an experience.
Hey there, very nice review for Suiiki. I see you like Monster and Mushishi, I like them very much as well, maybe we should talk some more.
Gomen for the randomness.
