The Canaccord Learning Commons & David Lam Management Research Library

The Canaccord Learning Commons (CLC) and David Lam Management Research Library is a hub for UBC Sauder students.

The Canaccord Learning Commons provides support for all UBC Sauder School of Business students – including BCom’s, MBA’s, MBAN’s, MM’s, B+MM’s, PhD’s, DAP, and all other degree programs – with learning support services, resources, and opportunities to hone the skills that will make them successful in the classroom and in the working world.

Jane Sign-Up FAQ's

How can I sign up for a session?
 You can book directly through the CLC Booking Page.
  • Click on the session you want to book.
  • Choose the available timeslot on the “Book an Appointment” page.
  • When the confirmation pop-up appears, click “I’m Done”or “Book More”.
  • You’ll be taken to the “Thank You for Booking”page — you’re all set!
How can I join a waitlist for a certain session?
 If a session is fully booked, you can join the waitlist.
  • Complete the CLC Booking Waitlist Form (also accessible through the CLC Booking Page).
    • Ensure Staff or Discipline matches the session.
    • Select the dates and times you wish to be notified about.
    • Choose SMS or Email notifications.
  • You’ll be redirected to “Your Account” page, where your waitlist request will appear.

⚠️ Please Note: When a spot opens, everyone on the waitlist is notified. Appointments are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

How do I cancel or reschedule an appointment?

You can manage your appointments from “Your Account” page

  • Access it via the link at the bottom of your confirmation email, or 

  • Click on the “My Account” button in the top-right corner of the booking page after signing in.

Under Upcoming Appointments, select the appointment you want to cancel or reschedule.

⚠️ Please Note: We ask that you cancel at least 48 hours in advance. When you cancel, waitlisted students are automatically notified. 

How do I find the location of my session?

Locations are listed at the top of the session description in the CLC Booking Page, and in your booking confirmation/reminder emails (denoted with ‼️).

⚠️ Please Note: Be sure to note the specific room number or Zoom link, not the general CLC address shown on the booking site or calendar event.

How do I add appointments to my preferred calendar software?

Appointments can be synced automatically to your calendar
  • Go to “Your Account” page:
    • Access it via the link at the bottom of your confirmation email, or
    • Click on the "My Account" button in the top-right corner of the booking page after signing in.
  • Click "Subscribe to your calendar".
  • You will be redirected to a new page "Calendar Subscriptions". Choose an option or manually embed the .ics subscription link into your preferred calendar app.
How do I manage email and text reminders?

By default, you'll receive reminder notifications for:
  • Changes to your booked appointments.
  • Waitlist openings (only for sessions that you've joined the waitlist).
  • A reminder 48 hours before your session.

To update your preferences:

  • Go to “Your Account” page
    • Access it via the link at the bottom of your confirmation email, or 
    • Click on the "My Account" button in the top-right corner of the booking page after signing in.
  • On the side bar, click "Notifications & Reminders".
  • Adjust your notification settings.
  • Click "Save Preferences".

As the Student Services Coordinator, I am responsible for coordinating activities associated with the daily operations of the Canaccord Learning Commons programs and services.
