Central Electoral Commission announces June 7 parliament elections’ final results: Prosperous Armenia Party fails to get 4% to enter legislature
The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) today announced the final results of the June 7 National Assembly (parliament) elections. The intrigue in these results is whether the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) will enter parliament or not.
The PAP's votes increased by 147 as a result of the recount. But since the results of three election precincts were declared invalid, the PAP lost 222 votes, as a result of which it will not enter parliament.
However, if the CEC decides to hold a re-vote in those three precincts, most likely the PAP will fill the missing several dozen votes and will appear in the new National Assembly.
