Fan History Wiki recently added about 13,000 articles about musical groups because we wanted to make it easier for people to write the history of their band's fan community. One of the articles we added was about 311 and it really needs your help! The article is supposed to give a history of the fandom. At the moment, it isn't doing that very well. It only has very basic information. It needs more. Whatever information you can add, from a date added on the timeline to a fandom specific term to how big a fansite or community is, that would be really great!

Well i posted alil bit ago bout Y100 being taken off the air, i was just checking http://www.y100rocks.com/bandsupport.php out and saw this in there, 311 KICKS ASS!!!


Great radio stations are hard to come by. To lose a station like Y100 in a city as influential as Philadelphia is a strike against art. The great people of Philly deserve a great station like Y100!
So, hang in there everyone. We're rallying with you. Long live Y100! See you on tour this summer!

so my mom was telling me that this morning on the news they were talking about the superbowl &they were in florida, interviewing celebrities at some maxim party. guess who was one of them? well i got tired of seeing john311's face at the top of this community, so i thought that i should write. i've never written here before, but just wanna say that nick hexum is sooo freakin' awesome. 311 rocks sooo much. all of their songs have their own life. their melodies are one of a kind. you'll never find two like or similar melodies in their music. although they claim to sing about uplifting matter, they cover the entire spectrum of emotion. thank you 311. i hope this will encourage others to write in some more, so we don't have to see that john guy's face as much. no offense john, it's just that it kinda creeps me out.

You know you want one!

I was browsing my local record store on campus when I found 36 copies of the 311 limited edition clear remix vinyl that came out with the Greatest Hits CD in June 2004 for $1 each. I bought all 36. I know that a lot of fans weren't able to get one because it was rare and such, so if anyone wants one for $5 (covers the cost of the vinyl, envelope, shipping, and a little extra for me because I'm so nice). Here's what it contains: Side A: I'll Be Here Awhile (Cirrus Breakbeat Remix), Side B: All Mixed Up (Butcher Remix). Both which can be found online but the vinyl is still cool to have. This is a limited edition collector's item, so if you want one email me at jleslie@gladstone.uoregon.edu and we'll figure it out from there. Sorry to be posting this again but I still have a bunch of these, people that have already gotten one from me can vouch that I've followed through. I'm not trying to make a profit or anything, I'm just one hardcore 311 fan trying help out other hardcore 311 fans.

i decided to join a ommunity on livejournal cuz ive been thinking about it and i finally realized that the only kid i should join should show love for 311.. i've read past entries in this one and i thought it seemed special. <33 i've been a 311 fan for only a few years now but i went to their oncert in mansfield MA on july 23rd and it was my first time seeing them live. it was one of the best nights i've had. and the greatest hits cd.. best cd ever! my LJ has a neat 311 layout a friend made for me check it out if you'd like :-)

Hey what's up y'all?

Good to see a group as dedicated to 311 as I am... I've been listening to them for about 10 years now (Since I was 8 O_O) when my cousin got me a copy of Music and Grassroots for my birthday. I've been listening to them ever since. I've only recently started going to 311 shows, and I haven't been dissapointed once. So yeah. In the words of the almighty Nick Hexum; "Big up to all the heads not of hypocrisy."
