October 2009 babies

Mar. 19th, 2009

location: Central CA
mood: Always having to pee!

Hi there everyone. I've been reticent about posting to this community until I was a little later along, lest I miscarry (I've had one in the past at 8W). Okay. Here's my stats. Betcha I'm the oldest one here!

Name: Nancy

Age: 41 (Told you!)

Area: Central California

Marital status: Dating, but now planning an impromptu wedding. I am pro-Vegas, Elvis impersonation, but he is an Italian, with a large, very traditional family, so my plan is a way no-go. So I guess we'll opt for a more traditional ceremony, albeit with a round bride.

Weeks: Just shy of 11.

Due date: 10/9 or so.

Children: They love us at the OB office because we are an older, combined family. I have 4, he 2. This makes # 7!  The ages:
Boy, 18 (mine),
Girl, 18 (his),
Girl, 17 (mine)
Girl, 17 (his)
Girl, 13 (mone)
Boy, 11 (mine)

Yes, we have 5 teenagers, 4 of which are girls. Sister Mercy!  The older two are Freshmen in college. We do not live together (we love about 65 miles apart), so after we marry and merge, what a house that will be!

Anthing else?: Isn't that enough?? haha. Really, I am showing very early and there was an initial belief that I was carrying multiiples, as my uterus was just too large for my dates. But an ultrasound showed one little nugget and a big floppy uterus (Now I have a reason for my non-flat stomach!).

This pregnancy has been a bit different. I have been having dark spotting (old blood), so the Sadistic Dr. told be no sex. Bastard! When you're 41, have 5 teenagers and are pregnant, there are few pleasures you still enjoy. Anyhow. I listented to him for about 5 minutes and just had more moderate fun.

While I am enjoying my new plump hooters, I could do without the soreness. Yep, they're still sore.

I'm hoping for a homebirth, but doubt that will happen due to a blood clotting disorder I have. After this may, my labors are very quick (#3 was almost named Ford due to her near delviery in one), so I may have a home (or roadside) birth yet.

He and I are both educated professionals, so this time around it will be nice to have secure financial resources, as compared to my eldest, which I had in college.

If you want to know anything else, just ask. I'm really quite open. I'm on Facebook way, way more often if you'd like to be my buddy. I am menanners@yahoo.com. I'll attach a photo of my sweetie and I. I'll hold off on the kids to preserve their privacy!

Okay. Apparently I'm a dumbass, as I cannot figure out how to attach a photo. If I ask my 11 year old, I'm sure he would know. AArgh!

1st u/s!!!

Well, I had my first appointment with my OB on Thursday...I am officially 6w 5d!! I had a vaginal u/s and got to see my lil one=) It was the most amazing thing I have ever experianced! I was actually amazed that I could see the baby's heart beating<3 This appointment was only the u/s..I have another appointment in 2 weeks. Thats when I get to sit and talk with my doctor about the pregnancy and what I want and what I should expect and what not....I'm so excited. Even though I knew I was pregnant, it feels so much more real now that I have actually seen the baby=)

I will post again probably this weekend when I can scan my u/s onto the computer!

UPDATEEEEEEEEE

So, I went to my PCP on Thursday for UTI symptoms, the dip was negative but she said she'd send it in for cultures and get back to me friday.
she didn't.
i ended up in ER with THE ABSOLUTE WORST bladder infection pain I've ever ever had. The dip came up negative again, they cath'd me (first cath, it was ouch) and gave me cephalexin. Next day, I'm at work (I work in a hospital) and had to go pee, when I wiped there was brown blood so I checked myself into ER again.
Here's the scoop:
the doc did an ultrasound and checked my hCg levels, he said since it was so early in the pregnancy that if he couldn't see anything with the ultrasound it wouldn't surprise him, unless my hCg level was high which would indicate a possible blighted ovum. the number was high and he didn't see anything. so he sent me to an outpatient ultrasound this morning. and... turns out I'm 5w5d with TWOOOOO babies for the price of one. :)
I can't believe it I'm crazy excited.

the brown blood he said was relatively common and unless it turns to bright red, I'm passing clots, or have horrible cramps I shouldn't worry.

Introductions

Name: Zohreh
Age: 27
Location: Michigan
Marital Status: Married
How many weeks: 5
Estimated Due Date: Oct. 10
Any other children: This is our first.
Anything else you want us to know: We've tried to conceive for nearly two years. Our reproductive endocrinologist told us that we only had a 5% chance of actually conceiving each month and that more than likely it would take years for us to get pregnant without medical intervention. I was pretty devastated by the news, but what can you do? On the day that I felt that I understood God's intention for us to wait and four months after the doctor's comment I had some weird symptoms and, sure enough, we got a positive test result.

I have been spotting the whole time and I am scared that I will lose the baby due stress from work and. . .well. . .my crappy luck in this department. On the other hand, no matter what happens, at least we know we can conceive without medical intervention. Whew! Always look at the positive, right?

Anyhoo, thank you for reading. here's a picture of me and my husband on our wedding day.

I'm 4 almost 5 weeks. I've had mild nausea. Usually when I get really really hungry or during & right after I eat. I get really hungry but can't decide on anything I want. I'm cranky, lol. Extremely tired. Gassy. Feeling like I have to pee every 5 minutes but not really having to go. Headaches now & again. Mostly though its the cramping. Feels like AF cramps & I hate it! I keep thinking that she's gonna show up. ugh.
