There are a couple of visual paper-cuts which could be fixed for the Properties → General dialog page, in particular for folders:
- D14501: Top-align labels in properties dialog
- D14449: Modify device usage information
- "Address the issue where it starts out with only one text line, then (after computing the size), jumps to a two-line layout. On remote folders, it looks even worse, because the text line is empty, and so the "Calculate" button looks disconnected from the Size label." (via D14501#301044) – We should always (for folders at least) display both lines, and set an appropriate default text instead of leaving them empty.
- Bug 336715 – Read-only fields on the General tab should be selectable so their information can be copied (AFAIK only "Device usage" is still missing this.)
- When a folder name is read only, the input field next to the icon should reflect that visually, e.g. by only showing a label instead of a textedit, or by using the label-with-a-frame trick. D14610
- Fix inconsistency: When viewing properties for the root or trash folder, window title and name label shows an empty folder name instead of "/" for root and "Trash" for trash.
(We've made good experiences in Gwenview with focusing efforts on a particular topic at a time. Chime in if you want ;)
