I'm looking for peeps in Philly to hang out with. Preferably those of the board game variety. I'm fine with just larping on a game of Mouse Trap or Hungry Hippo. Don't have many friends in Philly but I'd love to meet new people who are into board games!

Hello, everybody. I just moved to Philly a few months ago, and I recently got it in my head to see if I could find gamers in town. Specifically I'm wondering if there are old school, tabletop, pen-and-paper roleplayers out there, wondering what the FLGS situation is, and seeing if anyone knew anything or had any feedback to offer about PAGE. Thanks!

The Philly Cam runs great games, and both new and experienced LARPers are welcome.

We run Sabbat, Vampire the Requiem, Changeling the Dreaming, Mage the Awakening, and Geist.

Games are 2nd - 4th Saturdays of the month. The next game will be Sabbat on October 23rd.

With the 2008 summer convention season now passing into shining memory,
we've been busy preparing for TRAVELLERcon II in October.

Actually, TRAVELLERcon II is only a bit over EIGHT weeks away.

We've added more games to the schedule, and we're talking with a
potential guest to speak on Saturday. I shouldn't tell you who it is,
but I'll confirm right away that it isn't one of the Big Three (Marc
Miller, Frank Chadwick or Loren Wiseman). It's one of the Second
Generation GDWers and prolific MegaTraveller authors. More details anon.

Greeting everyone!

I have just found this, and to be truthful, I am somewhat excited. I have been trying to look for something fairly local as far as gaming groups go, and recently my interests have crossed over to live action role playing. I am a strategy gamer by habit and I am usually not a big fan of role playing but recently, I am somewhat curious.

The games I enjoy and play regularly are: Classic BattleTech, Warhammer 40k, Warhammer FB, Magic the Gathering, various historical strategy games, and a few others. I am rather curious as to the local groups of live action role players and their activities and I would be most grateful for any information about it, how to get involved, et cetera.

Well, I look forward to posting here and being a part of the community.

THE WORLD OF DARKNESS LIKE YOU’VE NEVER SEEN IT BEFORE!
(Now with extra angst and suffering)

Philadelphia was being plagued by a series of murders, a young girl was suspected to have killed now more than 10 young men, 5 of them right in or near center city Philly. But the girl has gone missing, and no one seems care. The University District has been plagued by odd happenings, and another suicide has been discovered, and a memorial serious is to be held this Friday night. The elders are acting, odd. Or at least odder than usual and they wind their way around the new prince and his court. The Lancea Sanctum has come to power within this usually Dragon held city, politics are afoot, and no one wants to be beneath the sturdy shoes of the newly appointed Archbishop Steege. The fountains of energy in the city seem to be drying up, or at least slowing to a trickle for some odd reason, and the newly reformed Kindred City is about to have a number of surprises. Not all of them pleasant or even profitable.

I'm currently part of a team of three STs, including 👁 Image
yagathai and 👁 Image
thomas_molitor, running a Vampire LARP in Philly. The game is called VIGOR MORTIS and it's been going on since April of this year, having grown into a steady LARP from its roots as a one-shot at last year's PhilCon.

There is an LJ community already existing for the game: 👁 Image
necrophilarp. There's some backstory amongst the entries and some other information about the game. If you have some interest or your curiosity is piqued, you can e-mail me for any further details, such as available characters, background, etc.

So far, the game has grown by invite, recommendation, and word of mouth. Knowing 👁 Image
mamcdowell and several other folks on this list, I wanted to extend an invitation along through this community and bring new players in on a game that has some great players and a social atmosphere.

We're having a big year-end four session game at PhilCon during the weekend of Dec. 9th-11th. Our game is separate from PhilCon itself, but will be run from within the same area. This saves our players the obligation of having to spend the extra money on a PhilCon badge if they were hesitant to do so.

I look forward to hearing from you and meeting some new people in the gaming community.
