Hullo, Princesses! It's been a week, and pollen count is high here!
( housewear!Collapse )
Hello, Princesses! I'm a new member and when I found this lovely little community, I wanted to see if I could help it get a little more active. You can call me Jennybird. I am not a lolita, but I do use some of the styling from the lifestyle to help me with my look. I'll try to post pictures at least once a week, and I'm open to criticism, as long as it's constructive!

This is me in my vintage Gunnysack dress. I know I'm not holding myself up too well, but I am sick today with a fever and nausea. I've been sickly all my life. Well, that's it for now, have a beautiful day lovely princesses!
I thought ya'll might enjoy this charming little video from 1941 about making a good cup of English tea.
Last night, my boyfriend came home from work with a new video game in hand. Video games are his passion and he graduated this spring with a degree in game design, so this is nothing new particularly; the game he brought home had just come out, however. It's called Child of Eden, and as I was watching him play this game, I realized it's something that lolitas could really enjoy playing. If you're familiar with the band Genki Rockets, you're familiar with the game's story. It's about Lumi, the first human born on a space station who sings nostalgic songs about earth. The game is centered on after her death, when her consciousness is uploaded to the internet- now called Eden. According to the first cutscene, something goes terribly wrong, and you have to save Lumi. Genki Rockets remixes are the game's soundtrack and the gameplay is really lovely and simple, yet challenging.
So I asked him, what are some video games you think lolitas in particular would enjoy? He paused, and then rattled off a pretty good list of games- Stretch Panic, Deathsmiles, Rule of Rose, Chulip and Limbo, as well as one called Dangerous High School Girls in Trouble, which seems like it's set around a 1920s girl gang.
I'm particularly interested in Rule of Rose, Deathsmiles and Girls in Trouble. I'm also definitely going to steal Child of Eden from him!
what are some other games that might appeal directly to lolitas?
I'm Kalmia/ Lady Adokenai, I'm your new mod since Jelly Candies is mighty busy and I have no life this summer, haha. She'll still be around, obviously, but either of us are available if you need us.
I'd like to invite all of you to make introduction posts, including what name you like to be called, your general location, and what drew you to Princess Life.
I'd really like to get the ball rolling so please, feel free to post lifestyle ideas, craft tutorials, recipes, etc. we're really open-ended right now and I want us all to enjoy ourselves here in our little oasis. :)
There will be changes in this inevitably, however, I thought posting some basic ground rules would be a good start.
General Posting Rules:
No fighting, please.
Debates and intelligent arguments are just fine I want you to voice your opinion(having no disagreement is a bad thing) But please refrain from trolling, blatant flaming and the like.
The community will be filled with Lolitas as well as non-Lolitas. Please be courteous to everyone. We are all different, and we should respect everyone for their own opinions and values.
Please, do not spam, obviously. Comments will not be screened, however initial entries will. If your post is not dealt with within 1 days time, please contact a mod (namely me at the moment).
~If your post is rejected for any reason, which you feel is unfair, please do not hesitate to dispute this.
Image Posting Rules:
When posting many images you are allowed to leave 1 image and up to 2 lines of text above an lj cut. Please use an lj cut for any other images/content.
Please, give constructive criticism when asked for, but know that this board will not always give you 100% positive feedback on an image (be it of a lolita coordinate etc).
Please, do not hotlink. Hotlinking uses up other site's bandwidth, it's rude, so please just use an appropriate hosting site.
Do not use other peoples' photos without permission. I cannot stress this enough, if it isn't yours, don't use it.
These are all the rules as of now.
~Although I am not putting anything under a cut at the moment, I will edit this post as the comm becomes more active~ Thank you.
Buying and Selling:
I would love to be able to allow people to buy and sell on the comm at some point. Right now I don't believe I should allow it, however I will accept reviews of companies that sell lolita and other suggestions for clothing or items that reflect princess life.
