Cant sign in with new AWS sign method
I can't sign in to AWS console with my IAM credentials. I know my:
- Account ID (12 digits)
- IAM username
But when trying to sign in at new interface, I get an error message saying the credentials are incorrect. I've double-checked all of the following:
Account ID has exactly 12 digits Username matches my IAM user exactly No extra spaces in either field Using correct case (uppercase/lowercase)
Could you please verify my credentials or help me troubleshoot the issue?

I apologize for the difficulty you're experiencing with signing in to the AWS Management Console. Based on the information you've provided, it seems you're taking the correct steps, but there are a few additional things we can check to troubleshoot this issue:
-
Password: While you've mentioned checking the account ID and username, make sure you're also entering the correct password for your IAM user. Passwords are case-sensitive.
-
Browser issues: Try clearing your browser cache and cookies, or use a different browser or an incognito/private browsing window to rule out any browser-related issues.
-
Time and date settings: Ensure that the date and time settings on your device are correct. AWS authentication is sensitive to time discrepancies, so it's recommended to allow your device to set the date and time automatically or sync with a known Network Time Protocol (NTP) server.
-
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): If your IAM user has MFA enabled, make sure you're providing the correct MFA code when prompted.
-
Account status: Verify that your AWS account is active and not suspended.
-
IAM user status: Check with your AWS account administrator to ensure your IAM user hasn't been deactivated or had its permissions changed recently.
-
Sign-in URL: Make sure you're using the correct sign-in URL. The format should be: https://[Your-Account-ID-or-Alias].signin.aws.amazon.com/console/
If you've verified all these points and are still unable to sign in, you may need to contact AWS Support for further assistance. They can help verify your credentials and investigate any potential account-specific issues that might be preventing your access.
Remember, for security reasons, AWS support cannot provide or reset your password directly. If you've forgotten your password, you'll need to work with your AWS account administrator to reset it.
Lastly, if your organization uses AWS IAM Identity Center (formerly AWS Single Sign-On), you might need to sign in through the AWS access portal instead of using IAM credentials directly. Check with your IT department or AWS administrator to confirm the correct sign-in method for your organization.
