Hello everyone.

First off, I am very sorry for pretty much disappearing off the face of the earth just like that. It's been a pretty bad time for me since fall 2012, pretty much right after finishing the last series. I can't even honestly say I have been writing much since: lacking the energy, so to speak.

Fall 2012 marked the beginning of a downward spiral. After first having been sick for about 5 weeks with the worst cold I had in my life and somehow dragging my ass into the new year, failing to notice the obvious signs, in early Spring 2013 I was diagnosed with a severe case of burnout due to situations at my (now former) work place. I was forced to stop working by doctor's orders as I couldn't even do as much as lift my head off the pillow anymore, ending up on sick leave for months. My (ex) boss had nothing better to do than fire me first (which, I guess, is his right), ending my contract by June 30th last year. He has since then done pretty much nothing but complicating my life where he could despite me not even being face to face with him anymore and still continues to do so whenever the mood strikes. He's been running me down, refusing to cleanly end my occupation at his place (still to this day) and is generally a sulking git that will not accept that I was fed up with how things went at the office and my body deciding it will not take it any longer. Needless to say, his childish behavior certainly didn't help me trying to recover from the state I was in and I am having a hard time not letting it affect me now, whenever he remembers he could pester me somehow and comes up with the most ridiculous shit.

Naturally, suffering from severe burnout goes hand in hand with withdrawing from the world completely. I had limited contact to people, if at all, still to this day and that will explain why I haven't been replying to comments or messages, for which I apologize. I have been somewhat active on Facebook over the time (since 👁 Image
too_beauty I believe asked about it in a message), but mostly to play games to distract myself from the mess in my brain.

Luckily, after mostly recovering from the burnout (took six months for the worst part and still in recovery now), I found a new place to work at and absolutely love it. I have the funniest bosses you can imagine and really great colleagues. This has obviously kept me occupied some. I have been working there since September last year :)

SO, I hope you can forgive my extremely long absence. I don't know how active I'll be on Livejournal again from now on or if/when I'm gonna go back to writing in the near future, but I wanted you to know you're not forgotten. I will be answering requests to join etc. again from now on :)

Friends Cut

I have just done the long announced friends cut. It was due a month ago already according to my plans but I've told myself to wait and see if I might change my mind.

If I cut you, it might be because of the following reason(s):

a)
We don't communicate at all anymore of you haven't updated your LJ in ages. I'm using this thing to communicate with the people on my flist, not to collect 'corpses' :) although I'm sure that would be a fun hobby. I know I'm not the most active commenter, even though I do read pretty much everything posted on my flist daily (safe for fics a lot of time, depends on the free time I've got), myself. I'm not measuring the communication thing on that.

b)
If I have friended your fiction journal or a journal where you 99% of the time post your writings, chances are I lost interest. No hard feelings on my part, it happens.

c)
I can't deal with your behavior. In fact, I have an allergy against a certain kind of behavior.

d)
We might have stopped sharing the same interests.


I sincerely hope that no matter for what reason, it's possible to part with no hard feelings involved. There are certainly no hard feelings on my behalf. Sometimes, if you have to go, you have to go, right?

I'm sure I'll see the one or other around someplace and wish you all the best.

Sims 2 vs. Sims 3

Howdy!
It's still a really icky weather outside XD Icky enough for Spotty to refuse getting up and move her lazy ass around (I made her now, though. LOL).

Since a few people asked/were curious, I've collected a list of things about Sims 3 in comparison to Sims 2. I guess it'll be much easier as soon as the custom content comes out by people more talented than EA will ever be but so far? I feel a little bad that Mom spent so much money on it, to be quite honest, so I'd get it for my birthday. I prefer continue playing with Sims 2 at this point.

All in all...dunno. As it seems with the EA Download Manager coming along with the game, I assume they plan on updating the game and - probably - fixing a couple bugs etc. while they are at it. I'm pretty sure a first patch will arrive soon. Putting my hopes into (useful) custom content that will surely arrive sooner or later along with helpful game mods to get the qualities and stuff back that Sims 2 has offered us so far.
Those are just my 2 cents and opinions. I also haven't included all the possible new features etc. because I didn't sit here for 24 hours LOL. I just tried the usual things.

Now I need a shower and some peace of mind. Another week of work ahead. Good thing Thurday's an off day XD And my summer holidays aren't far anymore, either. Only a month away *G*

Friends Cut

Just got done with my Friends Cut as announced earlier today.

Reasons for cutting you were probably:

=> You don't update anymore or you're hardly around so it all got a bit lost.
=> Not sharing the same interests anymore.
=> You exceeded your Free Cards (as explained a while back).
=> Personal reasons.

I think I managed not to accidentally delete anyone this time XD.

To those who had to go, it was nice meeting you and I hope you'll have a great life.

Friends Cut

Just did a small friends cut..for various reasons, really. We don't talk anymore, you haven't updated in ages or were never around anymore or because I don't think it's necessary for you to read my LJ when all what you are actually interested in has the last name Leto and I'm really not someone to post pictures all the time or whatever.

Fandom Chat Room

Hello hello,

glad to see you were curious enough to check out this post :D

The idea was born kinda on a whim, really. I haven't seen a fandom chat around yet where people can just hang out to make friends, share (story) ideas, meet your favorite writer (if present XD) to ask questions or express your love for their stuff, just talk crazy or maybe even are inspired to RP together. After talking to someone about this chat possibility, I decided to give it a go and create one.

On this post, you'll find the chat room rules, a few basic things about the chat and, of course, explanations on how to access it. Once you got it set up once, it's really easy for the future. Of course, you can always leave a comment if you need help.

Now, some important things:

I take it everyone would like to keep their nickname - firstly because it's YOURS, of course and secondly for your own safety. You can register your nickname easy and for free and make sure no one will use or abuse it in the future. Just think someone could log in using your nickname and do shit, eh? Not very fancy.

Anyway - to completely prevent that and assure that your nickname will always be available and always be yours, as soon as you're in the chat room, you should type in the following:

/msg nickserv register password email-address

Use a password of your choice - your email address will tie your nick name to you forever. Here's an example of how to type it:

/msg nickserv register MOOMOO xyz@livejournal.com

You then get a text in the status window (or even the chat window, depending on what you use), confirming that your nick is now registred. From now on, every time you log in on IRC and it connects with your password, it'll ask you to identify, else your nickname will be set to something like Guest205451 or shit like that. It gives you the command to type in, but here it is again, just in case:

/msg nickserv identify yourpasswordhere (in my example: /msg nickserv identify MOOMOO)

It'll recognize you and off you go.


For all of you who are interested, you're invited to spread the word around among your friends and invite them over. As soon as the trial phase looks promising and everything works out fine, I'll start introducing the idea to the fandom communities (or the moderators of the respective community can do so themselves XD) and invite more people over.

Feel free to link to this public post to make needed explanations available for the people on your friends list.

That's it so far. If you wanna come over, say hi :D IRC has many commands that you can find in IRC itself or on Google. You'll see, after a while, it's not too complicated anymore! XD
