The Indigenous peoples of the North American Southwest are Native American tribes with similar cultures in the southwestern United States and parts of northern Mexico.
Region
[change | change source]This region includes the present-day states of Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, and Nevada. Other names for this region are "American Southwest", "Northern Mexico", "Chichimeca", and "Oasisamerica/Aridoamerica".
These areas are usually dry with little rain. However, the grounds are rich and allow for agriculture. The landscape includes plains, valleys, mountains, desert lands, canyons and grasslands.
