Max Fleischer (born Majer Fleischer /ˈflaɪʃər/; July 19, 1883 – September 25, 1972) was a Polish-American[1][2] animator, inventor, movie director and producer. He was born in Kraków, Poland. Fleischer was the head of Fleischer Studios. He was known for creating Koko the Clown, Betty Boop, Popeye, and Superman to the movie screen.
Fleischer died on September 25, 1972 in Los Angeles, California at the age of 89.
