About Lukas Souza

Lukas flew for the first time before his first birthday and has loved aviation since his earliest memory. He combines a passion for aviation, storytelling, and photography in his role writing for Simple Flying.

Why do you love aviation?

The fact that one day a human looked at a bird and thought to make a machine that could fly is insane. But what is crazier is that it was done, and now we can cross the world in a matter of hours. I am a massive plane geek and will do anything to get me around planes.

What is your favourite aircraft and why?

It is hard for me to narrow down just one. Up until last October, I would have told you my favorite plane to fly on was the Embraer E195-E2 but October marked my very first Airbus A350 flight, which was incredible. I love both aircraft for their comfort and silence in the cabin, and the E2 especially because of its large windows that are perfect for photographing and the fact there are no middle seats.

What is your industry focus?

I focus on commercial aviation, primarily in the United States and also in Brasil as I spend a lot of time there. From network updates, to changes in the passenger experience, I am always up to date with what is happening.
