United Airlines has one of the world's largest airline fleets, operating almost 1,000 aircraft large and small. According to ch-aviation figures as of May 6th, 2024, United has a total fleet of 954 aircraft, with 878 active, and 76 in storage. The fleet is heavily Boeing focused with roughly just one in five of the airline's current aircraft being an Airbus. That said, the airline has recently started to take the first of many Airbus A320neo family jets.
Narrowbodies
According to ch-aviation's data, United Airlines currently has a staggering 734 narrobody aircraft from three major aircraft families, the Airbus A320 family, the Boeing 737 family, and the Boeing 757 family. At the moment the narrowbody fleet is more heavily weighted towards Boeing.

While United Airlines has 277 Boeing 737 MAX 10 aircraft in its fleet, the airline's CEO has threatened to cut the type from United's plans entirely following the Alaska Airlines door plug incident in early 2024.
Major Blow: United Airlines Tells Boeing To Stop Building MAX 10s And To Switch To MAX 9s
The latest announcement came after United had announced it was not expecting any deliveries of the type in coming years.
Widebodies
Boeing also wins when it comes to the current United Airlines fleet, while the airline has 45 Airbus A350-900s on order, it currently only operates Boeing widebodies from three aircraft families. These are the 767, 777, and 787. United Airlines is one of just a handful of airlines to operate all three variants of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
