BlueBird Block 2 are the operational satellites for AST & Science's SpaceMobile mobile communications constellation, designed to provide space-based cellular broadband connectivity directly to standard mobile smartphones.
The operational constellation wll consist of up to 60 stellites.
BlueBird Block 2 satellites are designed to deliver up to 10 times the bandwidth capacity of the BlueBird Block 1 satellites.
The first prototype with a mass of 6100 kg was launched in December 2025 on an Indian LVM3 (2).
