The Psychological Profile (Please no Spoilers)
I just got back an in-game psychological profile based on my answers when trying to get an admin account. I'm very early in the game so please no spoilers.

Do these profiles actually differ based on the answers you give, or is it the same for everyone? I ask because I found my profile to be extremely accurate, but just general enough that I could see everyone getting it regardless of the answers they chose. It was actually perhaps the most accurate description of any sort of personality test of this nature I've ever taken (meaning internet quiz-type stuff, etc.).

I only ask out of curiosity. I am extremely impressed either way. The writing in general is some of the best I've seen in any game, and the world has a ton of depth to it. Thanks to the devs for going through with a game like this. I hope more developers can follow and make something similarly intelligent and ambitious.

I don't know the answer for your question, but

You ask for no spoilers, and yet your asking directly for something that's a spoiler, so spoiler tags follow: Your combined choices from the two parts of the test make a slight difference on what gets listed if you look at your conflicts, but otherwise don't mean ****

Lest this be taken the wrong way...they've done a very impressive job with the story, however from a technical standpoint, Milton's scripting is very basic.

I think it's the same regardless of what dialogue choices you pick. Because i've tried other dialogue options and got exactly the same profile.

The psychological profile and conflicts have no relationship. It's always the same psych profile.

Well, I believe both are listed after you take the quiz. But yes, the "profile" isn't based on anything.

I suspect that the separate conversations with Milton don't have much effect on each other in general (the border between conversations being when you step away from the terminal).

Actually proving this will be annoying, because of exactly how the scripts work making it hard to even find those borders.

Not really, I've looked at the scripts, each segment with Milton is in its own file. But actually, it's pretty easy to see that very little you do sets global variables, so for the most part it's basically just a self-contained flow for each segment.

I think the questions were intentionally picked so that you would end up having to give conflicting answers.

Not really. You can go with no conflicts, but if you do it will say "Note: Lack of conflict indicates possible bot" or such. The first question of the second half is the only differing one - despite how it says "The second half is made to test the consistency of some of your outlier responses.", only the first question is.

Nope, more of the questions in the second half matter, although the first one is the only one that has different questions based on your response for the first part.

This all reminds me of that time I got moved to a balcony seat and could see everything the magician was doing behind his back. Not to discourage further investigation, of course.

"I will rearrange these 10 cards behind my back..." - *takes 5 cards and flips them*

Though personally I'd add a couple questions just to put in "you are primarily X, but at times you change to Y" in which X and Y would be introvert/extrovert questions.

Just read the wiki, and while I'm kinda bummed, it's another reason why I love this game. I'm going to have to keep researching more of the concepts and philosophy in this game.

you can see an article on the forer effect in the archives

guess who's read the archives, like, a lot

milton's playing you

@TJ dw you did a good job milton's a creep and my baby

I think that was one of the intended natures of the game, to make us call into question our own perceptions of reality. Either way, I feel like I want to go another round or few with Milton again. Even though he's a bit of a cynical controlling rust bucket.
