Some games cannot use gyro natively on the steam controller.
Some games (example: Helldivers 2) cannot use their built-in gyro features on the steam controller. I believe this is because the controller needs to be processed through Steam Input, but there is no setting in Steam Input to simply process gyro as "gyro input". Steam Input requires it be processed as a different input such as a stick or mouse, or simply not be active at all.
Another example is Death Stranding (one), which I am playing through a non-steam version and as such cannot use the Native Steam Input API (if it has one) which has gyro support for functions typically bound to left stick *and* right stick.
This is not an issue for games with Native Steam Input API support + gyro, but in examples such as non-steam games or games with gyro but lacking the API, it feels like a significant issue for the controller as you don't have the option to turn off Steam Input.

If I'm correct on the source of the issue I believe it could be resolved by adding an option in Steam Input to simply parse gyro directly as gyro, without translating it into something else.
