You can select to play as either Catboy or Catgirl with 👁 Left dpad
or 👁 Right dpad
on the menu. The gameplay is the same except for the character sprite and background music.
The puzzles in each round are grid-based and each movement is one square. To clear a round, you must move horizontally into all monsters to defeat them. Standing on top of them has no effect, but they can be used to reach other areas. Stones can be moved to create platforms to step on, but they cannot be moved if they are next to another object or against a wall. If two stones are stacked on top of one another, moving the bottom one will cause the top one to fall down with the player character's position remaining the same. Soil acts as platforms or walls and can be removed by moving horizontally into. If an object is on top of soil that is removed, it will remain on top of the player character.
Both characters are playable in some of the later rounds and they can be switched by pressing 👁 Select button
. The other character can be stepped on like a platform but they cannot be pushed. If anything underneath is removed, they will fall.
If you get stuck, press 👁 A button
to rewind your actions. Press 👁 B button
if you rewind too far to replay your actions. When you clear a round, the elapsed time is displayed and the round number is darkened on the round select screen.
Up to five custom stages can be created in edit mode. Select between Round 1-5 with 👁 Left dpad
or 👁 Right dpad
to edit. Press 👁 Start button
to bring up the parts menu and assign a part to both 👁 A button
and 👁 B button
. The top left part acts as an eraser and PL stands for player. Move the cursor with 👁 Neutral dpad
and press either button to place parts. Select Play in the menu to test the stage. You can save a stage by selecting Output Password in the menu and writing down the password. Use Input Password to enter the password for your stage. The Copy option allows you to copy an existing creation to one of the other rounds.
