Verify your identity

About identity verification

To continue to show ads and receive payments from Google AdMob, you need to verify your identity. This is to confirm the accuracy of your account information and protect you from fraud.

New identity verification process

Depending on your location, you may be asked to submit your government-issued photo ID and take a video selfie. AdMob is trialing this new process to improve user experience and strengthen its defenses against fraud. Any data collected as part of the new process will be used solely for verification purposes.

Note: You won't be asked to verify your address via PIN until after you've successfully verified your identity.
You'll have 45 days from the date we first ask you to verify your identity to submit the required documents in your account. After 45 days, if you haven't completed the verification process, we'll stop showing ads on your pages.

How to verify your identity

  1. Sign in to your AdMob account at https://admob.google.com.
  2. Click Payments in the sidebar.
  3. Click Verification.
  4. In the "Identity Verification" section, click Verify now.
  5. Follow the instructions to submit your documents.
Note: Verifying your information might take a few days.  You can review the status in the "Identity Verification" section.
If you use the same payments profile for both AdMob and Play Console accounts, you might need to go through a separate developer identity verification process. Learn more about verifying your developer identity information.

Document submission tips

Here are some tips on successfully submitting your documents:

  • Use the same full name in all documents.
  • Submit documents that are current and not expired.
  • Submit both the front and back sides of your document.
  • Capture the entire document; the photo must be readable, high resolution, and in focus.
  • Keep your image free of reflections and glare.
  • Incomplete or obstructed documents or dark or blurry photos won't be accepted.
  • Uploading documents or photos other than your ID may result in account suspension.

Document requirements for individual accounts

Your ID document must be a government-issued ID such as a passport, national/state ID, driving license, or residence permit (depending on your country). Note this is not an exhaustive list.

Document requirements for organization accounts

  • Proof of organization document: This should be an official registration document for your organization.
  • Valid government-issued photo ID of authorized representative: This is required in addition to the organization's registration documents.

Note: Your proof of organization document must:

  • Allow Google to confirm the current existence of the organization; expired documents or documents suggesting the organization does not exist or no longer exists can’t be accepted.
  • Be issued by an issuing authority, i.e., federal/state/municipal government, public institution (tax authority, securities and exchange commission, etc.), chamber of commerce, business registry, etc. This does not include utility bills, bank statements, insurance statements or rental agreements.

Verification re-reviews and status updates

To protect the security of our ad ecosystem, Google may periodically re-review previously approved accounts or re-evaluate your verification status based on new risk and safety signals (such as a connection to a terminated account). If your account fails identity verification upon re-review:

  • Your ads will stop showing across your properties.
  • Your earnings will be placed on hold.

If we can't verify your identity

Sometimes we're unable to verify your identity from the documents you provide, for example, if your documents are blurry or unreadable. We'll let you know if this happens and invite you to resubmit.

To prevent abuse, we only allow a limited number of verification attempts. If you've reached your limit of attempts and do not see an option to retry the verification, use our Identity verification troubleshooter and contact form to reach Google AdMob support to find out what steps to take next. If your issue is still not resolved, contact us via this form.

Note: We can't remove the payment hold on your account until we've verified your identity.

Why your ID wasn't accepted and how to fix the issue

Ensure the full name on your submitted document exactly matches the name on the Identity Verification form that you fill in.
We can only verify IDs that match the country in your payments profile. If you have a valid ID that matches your account name, but was issued in a different country to the country in your payments profile, use our Identity verification troubleshooter.
Submit a valid document issued by a government institution. We accept passports, driver’s licenses or national identity cards.
Submit one of the following documents that our system will accept: passport, driver’s license or national identity card.
Check that the organization name in your account matches the name in your official registration documents. If there's a mistake, make sure you change the organization name in your account before you resubmit your ID.

Make sure you capture the entire document. Your image should be readable, in focus, and free from reflections and glare.

Change your payments profile name after you complete identity verification

After you've successfully verified your identity, you may not be able to change your name in your payments profile. If you have a valid reason to change your name, you can click Edit 👁 Edit
