Confirm your identity using your Android device
If you're signing in from a different location than you usually do, we may ask you to enter a code that you get from your phone. This helps make sure that you own the account.
Important: Some steps vary based on your Android version. Learn how to check your Android version.
Important: You're using a custom Android version. If these steps don't work for you, check with your device manufacturer.
Verify your Google Account
If your device uses Android 6.0 or later:
- On your device, tap Settings 👁 and then
Google. - Tap Profile photo 👁 and then
Manage your Google Account. - Tap Security or Security & sign-in 👁 and then
Security code.- If needed, enter your phone password and pick the account.
- Once your phone generates a 10-digit code, enter the code on the device you want to sign in on.
- Tap Continue.
- On your phone, go to Google Settings.
- To request a security code:
- If your device uses Android 5: Tap Manage your Google Account 👁 and then
Security & sign-in 👁 and then
Security code. - If your device uses Android 4.4: Tap Security code.
- If your device uses Android 5: Tap Manage your Google Account 👁 and then
- If needed, enter your phone password.
- Select the account you want to sign in to.
- A 10-digit code generates on your phone.
- Enter the code on the device you want to sign in on.
- Tap Continue.
Tip: You don't need an internet connection or mobile service to get codes.
