Download or delete apps & games
You can get apps and games for your Android TV through the Play Store app.
Get apps & games
- From the Android TV Home screen, scroll to "Apps."
- Select the Google Play Store app 👁 Google Play
. - Browse or search for apps and games.
- To browse: Move up or down to view different categories. When you find a category you’re interested in, move to the right to view items.
- To search: At the top of the screen, select Search 👁 Search
.
- Select the app or game you want.
- To install the app or complete your purchase, follow the on-screen instructions.
If you have trouble with your purchase, try a different payment method, like a credit card or PayPal. Learn how to add a payment method.
Find a previously downloaded app or game
In your TV's settings:
- From your Android TV Home screen, scroll to Settings 👁 Settings
. - Select Settings 👁 and then
Apps.
In the Play Store:
- On your Android TV, open the Play Store 👁 Google Play
. - At the top, choose My Apps.
- Under “Apps installed,” choose an app 👁 and then
Open.
Manage your apps
Delete an app or game
In your TV's settings:
- From the Android TV Home screen, scroll to Settings 👁 Settings
. - Under "Device," select Apps.
- Under "Downloaded apps," choose the app you want to delete.
- Select Uninstall 👁 and then
OK.
In the Play Store:
- On your Android TV, open the Play Store 👁 Google Play
. - Find the app or game you want to delete.
- Select Uninstall.
Tip: If you don’t want an app to show up in the top row of the Android TV Home screen, turn off notifications for that app. Go to Settings 👁 and then
Apps. Then, select an app 👁 and then
Notifications 👁 and then
Off.
Update your apps
- On your Android TV, open the Play Store 👁 Google Play
. - At the top, choose My Apps.
- Under “Updates available,” you’ll find apps that can be updated. To update an app, select it or select Update all.
Turn on auto-update
- On your Android TV, open the Play Store 👁 Google Play
. - At the top, choose My Apps.
- Select Open settings 👁 and then
Auto-update apps.
