Export your data from Google Chat

If you have a Google account, you can download your data from Chat. You can create an archive to keep for your records or use the data in another service. Learn how to download your data. 

Your download includes your:

• User profile information
• Memberships in direct messages, group messages, and spaces
• Messages along with attachments from direct messages, group messages, and spaces

Tip: Group messages and spaces created by users with a work or school account won't export as part of your Chat history.

If you need to export data and you use a work or school account, please contact your administrator. Learn who your administrator is.

If you're a super administrator of your Google domain, you can download your organization’s data. Group messages and spaces created by users from outside your domain will not be available in the export. Learn how to export your organization's Google Workspace data.
