No devices found

Follow the steps in this article if youโ€™re experiencing any of the following:

  • The Google Home app canโ€™t find your Google Nest or Home speaker, display, or Cast device(s) when you set it up.
  • Your Cast device doesnโ€™t show up as an available device when casting from an app.

Step 1: Complete the initial checklist

Make sure your device is:

  1. Nearby (within 6 meters).
  2. Plugged into a wall outlet.
  3. Powered on. The LED light on the side or back should be white.

Step 2: Verify settings

Turn on location services and enable location permissions for the Google Home app ๐Ÿ‘ Image
:

  1. Open your device's Settings ๐Ÿ‘ Image
    .
  2. Tap Location.
  3. Turn on Location.
  4. Tap Apps ๐Ÿ‘ and then
     Home app ๐Ÿ‘ and then
     Permissions.
  5. Turn on Location.

Connect to your Chromecast:

  1. Open your device's Settings ๐Ÿ‘ Image
    .
  2. Tap Wi-Fi.
  3. Connect to the Wi-Fi network that matches your device. This includes Chromecast, TV or speaker that works with Google Cast, speaker or display, or TV or speaker with the Assistant. Look for something like GoogleHomeXXXX or ChromecastXXXX.
  4. Navigate back to the Google Home app ๐Ÿ‘ Image
    .

Step 3: Finish setting up your device

Go to the setup section of your specific device's article:

  1. Chromecast or Chromecast Ultra
  2. Chromecast Audio
  3. Google Nest or Home speaker or display
  4. TV that works with Google Cast
  5. Speaker that works with Google Cast
