Share your form with collaborators

You can work with others on a form by sharing it with collaborators. If you only want people to fill out your form instead, learn how to send a form to responders.

Share editor access to a form

  1. Open a form in Google Forms.
  2. To share editor access or collaborate on a form, click Share ๐Ÿ‘ Add approver
    .
  3. Optional: Under โ€œGeneral access,โ€ you can give access to anyone with a link or to target audiences.
  4. Enter the names of the people or groups.
  5. Click Down arrow ๐Ÿ‘ Down arrow
    ๐Ÿ‘ and then
     Editor.
    • Optional: To select a date to remove access to the form:
      1. Click Add expiration.
      2. In the calendar, select a date.
      3. Click Done.
    • Optional: To remove expiration, click Edit expiration ๐Ÿ‘ edit
      ๐Ÿ‘ and then
      Remove expiration.
  6. If the form is published, an email notification will be shared when you send the form.
    • Optional: For published forms, you can add a message to your email notification.
    • Optional: If you donโ€™t want to send a notification, click the box next to โ€œNotify People.โ€
  7. Click Send.

Tips:

  • When you create a new response spreadsheet, form collaborators automatically get access to it.
    • Further changes to the permissions of the form wonโ€™t synchronize automatically.
    • To change or remove access, update permissions on both the form and the linked sheet separately.

Transfer ownership of your form

Before you transfer ownership of your form to someone, you need to give them editor access.

To transfer ownership to an existing editor:

  1. On a form, click Share ๐Ÿ‘ Add approver
    .
  2. Under โ€œPeople with access,โ€ next to the personโ€™s name, click Down arrow ๐Ÿ‘ Down arrow
    .
  3. Select Transfer ownership ๐Ÿ‘ and then
    Yes.
