How can custom workouts help with my daily fitness
Use the custom workout builder to create a personalized exercise routine that fits your fitness goals. You can set specific targets for distance, time, and calories, or use pace and heart rate alerts to manage your intensity during outdoor runs.
This guide explains how to build, customize, and manage your workouts directly from the Google Health app or your Google Pixel Watch.
Find weekly recommended workouts in the Today tab or under the Workout Plan in the Fitness tab. You can also create a workout with your coach in conversation, or by selecting Create from the Fitness tab.
- Coach guidance: Before you start a workout from your coach, you will see a personalized explanation from the coach, with the routine organized into segments like warm up, main block, and cool down.
- Interactive execution: As you’re completing a workout, check off your exercises one by one and log your reps, weights, and more directly in the app.
- Viewing options: Workouts default to a full-screen interactive view. You can minimize this player to see the full workout as a list and check off individual exercises as you go.
- Live metrics: If you have a Fitbit Air connected, you can see your live metrics streamed during the workout to your mobile.
- Workout feedback: Upon finishing, you'll be asked to rate your Rate of Perceived Exertion (RPE) to share how difficult you found the session. This feedback helps your coach provide more personalized recommendations in the future.
Reminders:
- Requires a Google Health Premium subscription (sold separately), the Google Health app, Wi-Fi, and an internet connection.
- Available on select devices. Features are subject to change and availability varies.
- Not intended for medical purposes.
- Gemini features work independently of Gemini apps. Check responses for accuracy; results may vary.
You can adjust your plan, including your targets and workouts, at any time by talking to the coach directly or by selecting the “Adjust” buttons you’ll see with your plan and workouts.
To adjust your plan conversationally, simply tell the coach what you need:
- “I’m traveling this week, can we adjust my plan accordingly?’
- "Make this workout longer" or "make it easier".
- "The treadmill is busy today".
- "I've injured my foot".
To edit your workouts manually:
- In the Fitness tab, select one of your suggested workouts to see your workout overview screen.
- Scroll down under Exercises to add, reorder, or delete individual exercises from your list.
- Edit granular details such as:
- Number of reps, sets, or weights for each movement
- Duration of each set
- For runs, set goal type, distance goals, and even pace targets
- You can delete exercises you do not want to complete
- To add exercises, tap on the search bar 👁 and then
search for your specific exercise 👁 and then
tap Add- Note: you can add an exercise as a circuit by tapping Add as a repeat. This allows you to group multiple exercises into a single block that repeats for a specified number of sets.
