Measure your deals performance
You can track, measure, and compare key performance metrics for any of your deals (your products with promotion, sale, or price drop badges, for example) in Merchant Center and for your promotions in Google Ads.
Before you begin
Measure performance in Merchant Center
To review the performance of your deals across Shopping ads and free listings, follow these steps:
- Go to in your Merchant Center account.
- Select Promotions tab.
- Select either “Ads” or “Organic” in the traffic filter.
- To get key insights into promotion performance, do the following:
- To view metrics by Product, Brand, Batch type or Category, select “view more” at the bottom of the “Which of your products benefit most from promotions” card.
- To view metrics on Promotion or Promotion category, select “view more” at the bottom of the “Which of your promotions are the most popular to customers” card.
Measure performance in Google Ads
Note: In Google Ads, you can only measure the performance of standard Shopping campaigns. You can measure the performance of Performance Max campaigns with a Merchant Center Product Feed in your Merchant Center account.
To measure how customers engage with your promotions, follow these steps:
- Sign in to your Google Ads account.
- Go to your Shopping campaign.
- Click Segment, then select Click type. Click type reports impressions from the “Special offer” link and reports clicks to the “Shop” button in the promotion bubble.
- Segment campaigns by click type.
- Go to the “Shopping ad - Coupon” click type. This click type reports impressions from the “Special offer” link and reports clicks to the “Shop” button in the promotion bubble.
