How do Fitbit devices sync their data?

Sync your device with the Google Health app on your iPhone or Android phone.

Syncing is the process that transfers the data your device collects to your Google Health account. Track your progress, see how you slept, set goals, log food and water, and more in the Google Health app.

Fitbit trackers, watches, and Fitbit Aria Air use Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology to sync with phones and tablets. Fitbit Aria and Fitbit Aria 2 use Wi-Fi to connect directly to your router.

Fitbit devices

Data automatically syncs to the Google Health app throughout the day. Each time you open the Google Health app, your device syncs automatically when it's nearby.

Google Pixel Watch series

Data automatically syncs to the Google Health app on your phone throughout the day and after you complete an exercise.

Fitbit devices and Google Pixel Watch

  1. With your device nearby, open the Google Health app on your phone.
  2. On the Today tab πŸ‘ Image
    , tap and hold on the screen and pull down.

Or use the Sync Now option:

  1. Open the Google Health app πŸ‘ Image
    .
  2. At the top left, tap Connections πŸ‘ Image
    πŸ‘ and then
    Sync πŸ‘ Image
    .

Fitbit Aria or Fitbit Aria 2 automatically syncs your stats to the Google Health app after every weigh-in.

A checkmark appears after data is synced. See your stats in the Google Health app.

Find information about your Fitbit device, such as firmware version, battery level, and when your device last synced.

  1. Open the Google Health app πŸ‘ Image

  2. At the top left, tap Connections πŸ‘ Image
    πŸ‘ and then
    your device.
  3. You will find the β€œlast synced when” notification below your device’s image.

Sync your device with any compatible phone or tablet. If you receive notifications on your Fitbit device, forget the Fitbit device under the Bluetooth settings on your phone before you use a different phone. For instructions see Why won't my Fitbit device sync?
