Google speaker and display firmware versions and release notes

Here are the latest firmware versions and release notes for Google Nest and Google Home speakers and displays. You’ll also find steps to check the current firmware version of your device, as well as the current software version of your Nest display.

Firmware updates are done in stages. The production firmware versions listed here are updated once the version is available to all devices.

Find the firmware version of your Google speaker and display

  1. Open the Google Home app πŸ‘ Google Home app
    .
  2. Tap Home πŸ‘ Image
     πŸ‘ and then
    All devices πŸ‘ Image
    , then touch and hold your device's tile.
  3. Tap Settings πŸ‘ settings icon
     πŸ‘ and then
    Device information.
  4. Under "Technical information," check for Cast firmware version: "X.XX.XXXXXX" (speakers) or System firmware version "XX.XXXXXXXX.XXX.XXXX" (displays).

Check your Nest display’s software versions

  1. Swipe from the bottom of the display screen.

  2. Tap Settings πŸ‘ settings icon
    πŸ‘ and then
    About device. You should find your "Software version" and "Cast firmware version."

  3. Scroll to the bottom. If "Operating System Version" is also listed, this means your device runs Fuchsia.
