Manage volume and LED brightness with Night mode
You can lower the volume of your voice assistantβs responses and dim the brightness of your Google smart speaker or displayβs lights to avoid being disturbed.
Step 1. Turn on Night mode
- Open the Google Home app π Google Home app
. - At the top right, tap your Profile picture or Initial.
- Verify that the Google Account shown is the one linked to your Google device. If correct, tap Close π Image
to exit the account window.- To switch accounts, tap the drop down π Image

another account or Add another account.
- To switch accounts, tap the drop down π Image
- Tap Home π Image
π and then
All devices π Image
, then touch and hold your device's tile. - Tap Settings π settings icon

Notifications & digital wellbeing π and then
Night mode. - Enable night mode.
Step 2. Schedule Night mode

Under "From," tap Edit π Image

choose the time π and then
Ok. -
Under "To," tap Edit π Image
π and then
choose the time π and then
Ok. -
Tap the day(s) of the week you want Night mode on. If the circle is blue, Night mode is on for that day.
Other settings
Do not disturb
When Night mode's on, you can mute notifications and boot up sounds. Timers and alarms will still ring.
To turn on do not disturb, turn the slider on π Toggle On Switch

LED brightness at night

To dim the lights on top of your speaker or display, drag the slider to the left.

To brighten the lights on top of your speaker or display, drag the slider to the right.
Maximum volume at night

To lower the maximum volume of your voice assistant at night, drag the slider to the left.

To raise the maximum volume of your voice assistant at night, drag the slider to the right.
