Get software updates on your Pixel Tablet and Charging Speaker Dock
Pixel Tablets receive regular software updates that include security enhancements, new features, operating system updates, bug fixes, and more.
Check for available updates on your Pixel Tablet
You'll get a notification on your Pixel Tablet when a software update is available. To install updates, tap the notification or open your system settings:
- Open your device's Settings app 👁 Settings app
. - Tap System 👁 and then
Software updates. - Check the screen for device software updates.
- Tap System update to check if your Android version is up to date. Learn how to check and update your Android version.
- Tap App updates to check for app updates. Learn how to update apps on Android.
- If an update exists, tap it 👁 and then
follow the on-screen instructions.

When you'll get Pixel Tablet updates
The Pixel Tablet runs Android OS. This device will get updates for 5 years starting from when the device first became available on the Google Store in the US.

Charging Speaker Dock updates
If you have a Charging Speaker Dock, you can turn on automatic updates so that your dock receives updates when your tablet is connected to Wi-Fi and docked.
To turn on automatic updates:
- Open your device’s Settings app 👁 Settings app

Dock settings 👁 and then
Turn on software updates.
