Check battery level and usage on your Pixel Tablet

You can check how much battery your Pixel Tablet has left in the status bar at the top of your tablet's screen, or in the Settings app 👁 Settings app
. When your tablet is charging, you can check how long until your battery is fully charged, and hide or display the battery percentage in the status bar.

Check the battery level on your Pixel Tablet

Your battery level is displayed as a battery icon 👁 Battery icon
 at the corner of your Pixel Tablet, in the status bar.

  1. Open your device's Settings app 👁 Settings app
    .
  2. Tap Battery 👁 and then
    turn on Battery percentage.

To check how much charge is left on your battery:

  1. Open your device's Settings app 👁 Settings app
    .
  2. Tap Battery.
  3. At the top, under the percentage, check how much battery charge you have left.

You can add the battery widget to your Home screen to get detailed information about your battery charge, including for any attached accessories, and for fast access to the Battery menu.

Important: The battery widget is available on Android 12 and later and works with devices that report battery info using Bluetooth or Google Fast Pair Service. Learn how to check your Android version.

  1. On your Home screen, touch and hold an empty space.
  2. Tap Widgets 👁 and then
    Battery.
  3. Touch and hold the Battery widget 👁 and then
    drag it to your home screen.
  4. To remove the Battery widget, touch and hold it 👁 and then
    drag it to "Remove" at the top of the screen.

Check your Pixel Tablet's battery usage

To check your apps' battery usage over time and change how apps use your battery:

  1. Open your device's Settings app 👁 Settings app
    .
  2. Tap Battery 👁 and then
    Battery usage.
  3. Under "View by apps," tap the app's name 👁 and then
    tap Allow background usage.
  4. Choose a battery setting:
    • Unrestricted: Remove limits on how an app uses the battery when running in the background.
    • Optimized: Recommended for most apps. Apps will make the most efficient use of your battery.

To check your battery usage by system function like CPU, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth:

  1. Open your device's Settings app 👁 Settings app
    .
  2. Tap Battery 👁 and then
    Battery usage.
In the dropdown menu, select View by systems.
