Turn your Pixel Tablet on or off

You can turn your Pixel Tablet on or put it into standby mode with the power button. The power button is located on the edge of the tablet, close to the rear camera.

• To turn your tablet on, press and hold the power button for a few seconds.
• To turn your tablet off:
  • Press and hold the power and volume up buttons 👁 and then
    tap Power off on the screen.
  • You can also swipe down from the top of the screen, tap Power 👁 Image

Activate Google Assistant with the power button

You can change what happens when you hold down the power button. You can hold down the power button to access your digital assistant, or to bring up the power menu. To change this setting:

1. Open your device's Settings app 👁 Settings app
   .
2. Tap Apps 👁 and then
   Assistant 👁 and then
   Hold Power for your Assistant.
3. Choose what happens when you hold down the power button:
   • Digital assistant: Activate your digital assistant from Google.
   • Power menu: Open the power menu.

Turn your Pixel Tablet screen off and back on

To turn your screen on or off while your tablet is powered on, press the power button once. To turn the screen off, you can also swipe down from the top of the screen 👁 and then

Important: If you set up a password on your tablet before you lock it, you won't be able to use your fingerprint the first time you unlock it.
