Use cash to add Play balance or make purchases
At select convenience stores, you can use cash to make an in-app purchase or add money to your Google Play balance. The convenience store that you use may charge additional fees.
Currently, you’ll only get this option if:
- You have the latest Google Play app. Learn how to update your app.
- You’re located in any of the countries listed below:

Buy Play Credit with virtual bank account transfer (Indonesia only)
- Open the Google Play Store app 👁 Google Play
. - At the top left, tap the Menu 👁 Menu

Buy Google Play credit. - Choose an amount 👁 and then
Ok. - You'll receive a virtual account number as payment code.
- Make payment using the code with your banking app, internet banking, or through ATM machines.

Buy Play Credit with cash
- Open the Google Play app 👁 Google Play
. - At the top right, tap the profile icon.
- Tap Payments & subscriptions 👁 and then
Payment methods 👁 and then
Add a payment method 👁 and then
Buy Google Play Credit. - Select an amount.
- Tap Continue.
- Select a store.
- If this is your first time, add your name and postal code.
- Tap Get payment code.
- At the convenience store, follow the instructions.

Tips:
- It may take up to 5 minutes to update the Play balance and receive an email about the completed transaction.
- To check the Play balance, refer to Add to & check your Google Play balance.
- If you use a code to pay for items at a convenience store and request a refund, any refunds issued to you by Google Play will be given back to you as Google Play credit.
- Find the in-app item you want to purchase with cash.
- Start the purchase process.
- Tap Pay at {convenience store brand} 👁 and then
Select a store.- If this is your first time, add your name and postal code.
- Tap Get payment code.
- At the convenience store, follow the instructions.
Tip: It may take up to 5 minutes to complete your purchase and receive an email about the completed transaction. It might take a few hours or up to a day to reflect the purchased items in the app.
Find the code to add cash or cancel your transaction
If you lost your code or need the instructions to add cash to your Play balance, check your email or follow the instructions below. You’ll also be able to cancel adding cash to your Play balance.
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Play Store app 👁 Google Play
. - At the top right, tap the Profile icon.
- Tap Payments & subscriptions 👁 and then
Budget & history 👁 and then
Purchase History. - On the transaction, tap See code.
- To cancel a cash add, tap Cancel.
