Troubleshoot issues with app downloads in your car

If you have trouble with app downloads from your carβs Play Store, you can try a few steps to troubleshoot.
Clear cache and data for your apps
Important: Before you try these steps, make sure your car is in park.
- On your carβs screen, tap Menu π Menu

Settings π Settings
π and then
System.ββββ - Tap Storage π and then
Other apps π and then
Google Play Store π Google Play
. - Tap Clear cache π and then
Ok.
- On your car screen, tap Menu π Menu
π and then
Settings π Settings
. - Tap System π and then
AAOS π and then
View all apps. - Tap Show system π and then
Download Manager π Download Manager
π and then
Storage and cache. - Tap Clear cache π and then
Ok.
- On your car screen, tap Menu π Menu
π and then
Settings π Settings
. - Tap System π and then
Storage π and then
Other apps. - At the top right, tap Show system π and then
Google Play Services π Google Play Services
. - Tap Clear cache π and then
Ok.
Remove and re-add your Google Account
Important: When you sign out of your account, any apps you downloaded will be removed. After you sign in again, reinstall your apps.
- On your carβs screen, tap Menu π Menu
. - To open, tap the Play Store π Google Play
. - At the top right, tap your profile photo.
- Tap Sign out of this account.
- Close and reopen the Play Store.
- Tap Sign in. Follow the on-screen instructions.
Turn off and on Play Store updates
- On your car's screen, tap Menu π Menu
π and then
Settings π Settings
π and then
Apps & notifications. - Tap Show all apps π and then
Google Play Store π Google Play
. - At the top of your screen, tap Disable π and then
Disable app π and then
Enable.
Connect to the internet
To download apps, you have to connect your car to Wi-Fi or a mobile network.
- On your carβs screen, check if your car is connected to Wi-Fi π Image
. - If youβre offline, check if mobile data and Wi-Fi are on.
- At the top, tap Menu π Menu
π and then
Settings π Settings
π and then
Network & internet. - Turn on Mobile data and Wi-Fi.
- At the top, tap Menu π Menu
Tip: If mobile data and Wi-Fi are on but you still are offline, you could be in an area without service. Try again later when youβre in a different location. Or, turn your network off, then on, and try to reconnect.
Check if a system update is available for your car
- At the top of your carβs screen, tap Menu π Menu
π and then
Settings π Settings
π and then
System π and then
System update. - Check for update availability:
- If the screen says, βYour system is up to date,β you donβt need to complete an update.
- If the screen doesnβt say, βYour system is up to date,β at the top right, tap Check for update. Follow the on-screen instructions.
Restart your engine
If none of these steps work, try to turn your carβs engine off and then on. Then try to download the app again.
