Mute Gmail messages

When you mute a conversation, the replies you receive skip your inbox and go directly to your archive. This keeps your inbox clean from long email threads.

After you mute a message:

  • The message is labeled as "Muted."
  • You can still receive a message in your inbox if:
    • The message is only sent to you.
    • The message is sent to a Google Group you’re in.
    • Someone adds you to the “To” or “Cc” fields.
