Add or fix a road in Google Maps

If we need to add or edit road information in Google Maps, you can let us know. Google Maps road errors include:

  • Incorrect or missing road names
  • Incorrect info about one-way and two-way roads
  • A road that was drawn incorrectly
  • Road closures
  • A road on the map that does not exist
  • Missing roads
Important: You can only submit edits to Maps in some countries and regions.

Fix incorrect info about a road

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Maps app 👁 Maps
    .
  2. On the bottom, tap the "Contribute" tab.
  3. Tap Update road 👁 and then
     Other.
  4. Tap the road you want to fix 👁 and then
     Next.
  5. Select the type of info you want to fix and enter the correct information.
  6. Tap Send.

Add a missing road

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Maps app 👁 Maps
    .
  2. On the bottom, tap the "Contribute" tab.
  3. Tap Update road.
  4. Tap Missing road.
  5. Tap "Add first road."
  6. Move the pin to the location where the missing road begins.
  7. On the bottom, tap plus 👁 plus
    to start drawing.
  8. Drag the pin to the location where the road ends and tap plus 👁 plus
    .
  9. Add the road name and road type and tap Save.
  10. To complete the road, tap Done 👁 Image
    .
    • To add additional missing roads, tap "Add another road" and follow steps 6-10.
  11. To submit the road, tap Next. Add more details if any and then tap Send.
