Change language or region settings on a Pixel phone or tablet

You can change the language or region your Pixel phone or tablet uses.

1. Open your device's Settings app.
2. Tap System 👁 and then
   Language & region 👁 and then
   Preferred Language.
   
3. To add a language:
   1. Tap Add a language 👁 Image
      .
   2. Choose the language that you want to use.
   3. Touch and drag your language to the top of the list.
4. To remove a language:
   1. At the top, tap More 👁 Image
      👁 and then
      Remove.
   2. Pick a language.
   3. At the top, tap Delete 👁 Image
      .

Tip: When you add languages to your System settings, it helps your device detect that language and customize content.

Change the language for an app

1. Open your device's Settings app.
2. Tap System 👁 and then
   Language & region.
3. Under “More language settings,” tap App languages.
4. Select the app that you want to change.
5. Choose a language.

Tip: To change the user language setting, the app must support language selection.

Change the region of your device

You can customize your regional settings such as the measurement system or temperature. The most common regions are available for each language. You can also set each type of regional preference individually.

1. Open your device's Settings app.
2. Tap System 👁 and then
   Language & region 👁 and then
   Region.
3. Select your preferred region.
