Create & customize the wallpaper on your Pixel phone

Important:

• This only applies to Pixel 8 and later devices.
• AI wallpapers may not be available for certain account types, like Family Link accounts.

To create custom and unique wallpapers based on your own prompts, you can use generative AI.

• To create a prompt in a prewritten template, fill in the blanks.
• To fine-tune the final result, swipe through different options.
• Save created wallpapers for reuse later.

To generate an AI wallpaper:

1. On your phone's home screen, tap and hold an empty space.
2. Tap Wallpaper & style 👁 and then
   More wallpapers 👁 and then
   AI wallpaper.
3. Choose a theme.
4. To get a random wallpaper for your chosen prompt, tap Inspire me.
   • To explore specific options, tap any underlined word in the prompt.
5. Tap Create wallpaper.
   • To choose between several AI-generated wallpapers, swipe left or right.

To set your wallpaper:

1. Tap Done 👁 Image
   .
2. To select a wallpaper location, tap Lock screen or Home screen 👁 and then
   Set wallpaper.

Tip: When used, the wallpaper is saved and you can reuse it again later.

1. To decorate your wallpaper, select an emoji or get a random assortment:
   1. On your phone's home screen, touch and hold an empty space.
   2. Tap Wallpaper & style 👁 and then
      Change wallpaper 👁 and then
      Emoji Workshop.
   3. At the bottom right, tap Edit.
   4. Choose your emoji.
      • For a particular emoji: From the keyboard, you can choose up to 14 emojis.
      • For a random assortment: Tap Randomize.
   5. Tap Done 👁 Image

2. To select a pattern and size:
   1. At the bottom panel, tap Patterns.
   2. Select a pattern style.
   3. To change emoji size on the pattern, use the slider.
3. To select a color:
   1. At the bottom panel, tap Colors.
   2. Select a wallpaper color.
4. To confirm your changes, tap Done 👁 Image
   .
5. To preview and set your wallpaper:
   1. To preview your emoji wallpaper, tap Next.
   2. When you’re happy with your wallpaper, tap Apply.

Important:

• The Cinematic effect is only available on Pixel 6 and later.
• The shape and weather effects are only available on Pixel 9a and later.

1. On your phone's home screen, touch and hold an empty space.
2. Tap Wallpaper & style 👁 and then
   Live effects 👁 and then
   Photos.
3. Choose a photo.

Add a shape to your photo

1. At the bottom, select Shape.
2. Choose a shape.
3. Choose a color.
   • To adjust the shade, use the slider.

Add a weather effect to your photo

1. At the bottom, select Weather.
2. Choose the weather effect you want.

Tip: To adjust the intensity of the weather effects, use the slider.

Add a 3D motion effect to your photo

1. At the bottom, select Cinematic.
2. To add 3D motion effects, turn on Add 3D motion to this photo.

Preview and set your wallpaper

1. At the top right, tap Done 👁 Image
   .
2. Tap Next 👁 and then
   Apply.
   • To confirm which screen shows your wallpaper, you can either tap Lock screen or Home screen or both.
